Having gotten settled in her new apartment the night before, Gidget walked up the steps to the police station the next morning. Her nerves were all over the place. She was so excited for her first day. She imagined that it was gonna be perfect. A small skip in her step, the Pomeranian entered the building.

Wolfing down a whole box of doughnuts at the front desk, Duke let out a loud belch before reaching out towards his tenth cup of coffee. Finishing it off, he tossed it towards the trash can across the room. It missed. Huffing, he was about to get up from his chair when a Pomeranian picked it up and threw it out for him. Sighing in relief, the giant Newfoundland mix called out to her, "Thank you!"

"No problem!" Gidget called back before she went into the meeting room. It was a total chaotic mess as the other officers, most of them being dogs, wrestled around with each other. Taking her seat at the front, Gidget smiled at the tattooed pig sitting next to her. He rolled his eyes and turned his head away in reply.

At that moment, the door opened.

"Settle down before I make ya all go for a walk!" a female voice shouted. Everyone quickly took their seat as a gray tabby cat got up to the podium in front of a bulletin board. Gidget realized that this was Chief Chloe. Her green eyes scanning the room, the cat huffed before glancing down at her clipboard. Clearing her throat, she announced, "As of last night, we officially have seven animals missing. City hall and the public are up on my tail with questions and I don't have the answers until we can find them. So let's go find them! Here's today's assignments."

While Chloe started lifting off everyone's assignments, Gidget looked over at the bulletin board and the pictures on it. The pictures were the missing animals and their last known locations had been plotted on a map of the city. There was a monkey, a wolf, a crocodile, a sheep, a hamster, a black cat and a tiger. "Officer Adams," Chief Chloe finally called out. Gidget sat up when she heard her name being called.

Taking one look at her, Chloe muttered, "Parking duty."
