Karn and Meghna were spending a happy and peaceful life in Anga. Soon they would have to join the pandavas in their journey to Hastinapur. Meghna finally felt safe around a man and it was her husband Angraj Karn. Karn realised the true meaning of love. Meghna was nothing less than a boon in his life. He turned a romantic man trying his best to surprise his wife. Meghna was a very intelligent queen. She was extremely kind and took care of her people. The people loved the new queen. However hushed rumours were travelling faster in the kingdom. Meghna didnt know what it was but it was definitely about her. Karn was completely unaware of such rumours.
"Arya...sometimes I recall my life in Kaliyug. It was so different. I was a normal girl. Things were so simple. I am extremely happy here but I do think what if you and I could spend a joyous and simple life in my era. Things are so different there. Everything was not so strict and rigid." Meghna said .
They were sitting in the balcony. They loved sitting in the balcony and watching stars at the night time. They shared their desires and thoughts during this time. 
Karn smiled.
"But your family is here. And I love your family. Your mothers, your brothers , my sakhi, my sakha all are here. I never want to leave dwapar yug but sometimes these thoughts cross my mind " Meghna said.
"You are a paradox yourself sweetheart. You amaze me" Karn replied looking at the sky.
"Karn...what if we...we are jit together forever. I mean what if our love..." Meghna was struggling to say.
Karn stopped her.
"Changes are inevitable in one's life. Our relationship too will change. We will love each other even more in the future. We will know each other better. We will spend each amd every hour together" Karn said.
Meghna smiled at such beautiful vision. She hoped it was true but she had seen too much life to know that life never stays so smooth. It never is easy and problems will arise at some point. However they were happy kow and that was what mattered.
Suddenly another thought disturbed Meghna. Something she had not imagined earlier. People in this era have the concept of polygamy. Maharaj Pandu had two wives.  Will Karn too follow his father footsteps? She would have to accept it. But the thought of  sharing Karn with another woman disturbed her.
"Karn?" Meghna wanted to ask hut she didnt know what to ask and can she ask. Well she loved him but it doesnt mean imposing your will on your loved one.
Karn looked at Meghna. She seemed a little worried. Her facial expressions were different.  Karn cupped her face with his palm releasing her stress.
"What's wrong? And why are you hiding it from me?" Karn asked.
"I...Will you...Nothing" Meghna said not knowing how to ask such a question.
"What is it?" Karn asked a little taken aback.  Meghna was troubled asking a question. She usually was pretty smart and expressive about stuff.
"Arya you know how kings marry more than once.  Your father Maharaj Pandu had two wives - mata Kunti and mata madri. Even sakha Krishna has two wives- Rukmini jiji and Satyabhama jiji." Meghna tried to explain in this manner.
"And he loves Radha. Krishna is full of surprises. But what is troubling you. I dont get it" Karn said and suddenly realised what it was. She was worried  about him remarrying.
"Ohhh" Karn exclaimed understanding. Meghna bowed down her head not knowing what to say or what expressions to give.
"Well yes why not. Ofcourse kings should remarry. It helps them gain political power and kingdoms ." Meghna's face fell. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes. What was she thinking? He would remarry like his father and every other male in his male dominated society would follow his footsteps. She got up to hide her tears. She wanted to stay alone for women time. She suddenly felt arage inside her. Why does he have to remarry? Not everyone has to remarry! Lord Rama didnt remarry. He spent his entire life lining for his sita. Then why is it so necessary for Karn to remarry?
"Why? Why do you need to remarry?! " meghna asked suddenly her voice firm . She didnt know how she was stricken by such inmittigable rage.
"Thank goodness! I thought I have lost my tigress.  I was waiting for this rage since so long!" Karn said in an amusing manner.
Saying so Karn got up and caged her in his arms holding her waist.
"And what makes you think I will remarry? I can't handle one Meghna and you are considering the idea of a second woman?" Karn asked again amused.
"You! Why do you keep doing that! I was so worried. I felt you will get married like your father then I started comparing you with lord Rama and then" meghna continued blabbering.
"You're speaking too much" Karn cried and sealed her lips with his sharing a deep and romantic kiss. The weather yop seemed to dance at their tumes as a light breeze touched their bodies and spines enabling them to come closer to one another.
"I hereby promise you I will never remarry. Imagine another Meghna eating my head like you. God no! I am satisfied with one. Moreover I will never find someone like you...so there's no point in remarrying for I want you amd only you as my wife" Karn said.
Meghna could feel her tears just that this time they were tears of joy.
"I love you" Meghna said
Karn smiled and lifted her ik his arms and started walking towards their bed.

"This time our plan cant fail! The rumours will spread like wildfire and destroy that girl from the kaliyug! Now it's me versus Vasudev Krishna. Let's see how he protects his sakhi! That girl snatched away Duryodhan from us. She is the reason he has accepted the pandavas. I wont accept that!" Shakuni said his voice flinging with anger.
"Soon her marriage with Karn amd her beautiful life will come to a rapid end. Be ready.to.go through the worst of pains Meghna!" Dushashan said smiling in an evil manner.
"I will protect my sakhi Mamashree Shakuni. I will not let you sabotage their happy life. " Krishna said.
"You know you cant stop it" Niyati(goddess of destiny) said.
"I know but the aftermath...I can handle that" Krishna said.
Niyati nodded.
"Why did you write such a painful destiny for yourself? Meghna is a part of you...why did you serve such a difficult destiny upon yourself?" Krishna asked.
"You know everything Narayan whybthen do you keep asking me? Dont you remember the curses? Devi Lakshmi had cursed me that I would have to bear the suffering sita had to go through. Devi sati cursed me I would have to die in order to reunite with my love. The sole reason of Meghna's existence was to fulfill those curses. She was always supposed to have a painful life. I couldnt stop it" Niyati said.
Krishna smiled in a melancholic manner.
