(This is a small scene i was thinking of when talking about the Reapers subplot).
ParaVi conjured his pole. His Oculli shattered into glimmering dust. The dust spreaded across the floor, making it shine. ParaVi slammed his pole onto the floor. Ripples formed like water, spanning endlessly. He wrapped his limbs around his pole as it began to sink into the light. On the other side, darkness awaited his arrival. He slid down to the end of the pole, hanging on with one arm. His eyes jittered about the void.
“Show yourself,” ParaVi spoke.
“Oh,” a voice echoed. “You can see me, despite all your eyes being disorientated?”
“Disorientated as they may seem, they are simply surveying the area… Now, reveal the owner of such voice,” ParaVi ordered.
“My, my,” the voice continued. “How rude of you. Why not talk like this?”
“Speaking face to face is just proper manner,” ParaVi explained. “If you won’t appear, then I’ll just have to see.”
All his eyes closed. He placed his free hand over his face, leaving a big gap between two of his fingers. A vertical line appeared. Then, the skin opened, revealing an eye. Its glare pierced the darkness.
“Hello,” ParaVi greeted as he stood before a naked female wearing an Ox skull.
The Ox panicked conjuring up a robe to cover herself. “W-what? How did you-? Why did you-?”
“Like said, I will see you.”
“Why? Why did you want to see me? Why so urgently?” The Ox asked while still in embarrassment.

Brandon: So here is what I had in mind during and after typing that scene: Haeji dies in the fire with her parents. Her brother researches magic to try to revive them. Late within that year, HaeJi returns with no memories and is mute for the time being. Her brother treats her as a patient with trauma-induced amnesia. With a vague idea of who she is, and of who Joon is, she lives with him. Everything else is explained in her introduction. Unbeknownst to Joon, HaeJi is selected to be a Reaper. However, she is too young to one. So, as a contract, she will get to live until she is a little older. Fast forward to the Collab. No one knows about her past aside from her brother and current state aside from Grim and possibly others who are similar to a Reaper. Patricia uses HaeJi without that knowledge too. Once HaeJi finds the Gem, she violently reacts to it,convulsing in its presence.

Haeji: Wait,

Haeji: Isn't that too complicated?

Brandon: No

Brandon: Not really

Haeji: Cause that's kinda rewriting the whole story.
