A massive wave comes crashing down,

Stomping my sand castle flat.

I look up,

Defeated.

Then it envelops me.

It pulls me in,

Whirling around me like a winter storm.

When it settles,

There is peace and quiet.

I look around,

Wondering what this new land was.

Shells are sparkling stars,

Water is clear as crystal.

Rays of sun shined in,

Giving light to the world of wonder.

Bits of sand drifting toward the bottom,

Coming to rest from the earlier storm.

Then the water suddenly erupts,

And I crash onto the shore.

I look around once more,

Only to find myself soaking wet.

Coming out the the trance,

Only to find murky water.

This was the hard reality I am not yet ready to face.
