Lagenburg looked out onto the reddish-orange horizon of Jehantrines. The mars-like planet was home of...well nothing. In every direction it was reddish-orange with some patches of blue. Just like his old space suit. He could probably camouflage perfectly if he layed down. Except for his white helmet with a black visor. He kept walking by the set path of the bright blue tether which had been set by many colonists before him back to home base.

"So, how does it look, Morris?" Greeted Guiller as Lagenburg walked towards the outskirts of the base. "Anything new?"

"All as per usual, Captain Schirra. Not a sign of life in any direction as per usual except the local flora. Although there seems to be an oxygen bank right beyond the hill." Replied Morris. "Any clue when this interference with the radio will clear up? It's a pain to either get within 30 feet of someone or carry a radio pack."

"No can do." Guiller said while inspecting some of the delicate machinery of the vehicle bay. "The atmosphere of this planet is clogged with magnetic dust. Not only does it clog communications, but one whiff of the stuff and you die."

"Dammit." Morris groaned. "Is there any way we can give word to the U.N., NASA, Roscosmos, perhaps EXO?"

"Nope." Replied Guiller. "No way. This base is so old we'd be lucky to communicate to anything in the stratosphere. Almost all of it is broken, including the radio antenna."

Morris sighed and looked at the old base. Under its sleek white paint was probably a coat of rust. Who knows how old Colony 6 was, for about as long as time it felt the Colony missions had always been there.

Guiller turned towards some of the smeltery equipment and cursed something in brazilian. The painted logo on the side of his shiny, white kevlar space suit revealed his nationality well. If that wasn't enough of a giveaway, under the letters AEB were the words "Brazilian Space Agency". On his other arm as a final touch was a painted brazilian flag about as big as an arm band.

He envied Guiller's gear, he was new so he got newer tools instead of Morris' old NASA space suit. The white with red suit could withstand much harsher conditions and with the ability to protect from blunt force attacks, something often both in and under the planet.

However, Morris' spacesuit was more apt for sub-zero conditions. Unfortunately for Morris, there wasn't a single bit of snow anywhere on the planet. Suddenly, there was a beep and a new node appeared on his hud.

It seemed Schirra saw it too. "Oh my god."

Lagenburg could practically see the smile through Schirra's golden visor. "New arrival."
