My body collapsed in a heap as I fell down onto my hands and knees as my head collided with the forest floor with a sickening thud, causing my pupils to dilate and the forest floor to transform into an array of magnificent colors.

My breath was strained and wispy as I attempted in vain to capture a coherent thought through the maze of intense difficulty.

For the last few days I had been unable to grasp what was real and what was not real. Hallucinations tainted my every thought, my every movement until I was driven to near insanity, but what had really driven me to the edge was that girl.

She seemed to be around my age. Her golden, mangled hair danced on the forest floor as she laid down on it as though she was sleeping. Scars ran throughout the exterior of her entire body and a steady trickle of dark blood ran down her ripped clothes. Bruises distorted her body beyond belief until you couldn't even decipher who she was. Her glassy blue eyes stared unseeingly at the bright blue sky above her and her pale hand lay limp to her side.

She had been murdered.

By a teenager.

What if I was driven that far off the edge? To kill somebody? To take a life.

I shook the thought out of my head as I reached my hand down to my stomach and felt the wet, sticky, substance oozing from the deep cut in my stomach. The blood dripped down from my fingers and onto the forest floor leaving a thick sheen of red blood to cover the ground. I felt the bare minimum of my lunch makes its way up to my mouth as I stumbled my way across the forest floor.

I continued to walk through the thick bushes as I let my thoughts wonder back to home.

Back to my mum.

I could just imagine her beautiful eyes staring at the platinum screens above her. Her eyes were the same color as the earth kissing to cold spring rains, it was like the beautiful hue that promised to stir life from dormant seeds, it was like the melting, texture of dark chocolate. It was the epitome of beautiful. These beautiful eyes would be filled with a shield of watery tears that would drip down her pale cheeks as she watched me struggle to stay alive. I could just imagine the rosy red checked baby that she held in her arms whilst she fought the urge not to cry.

My feet forced me to continue walking through the dense expanse of leave, bushes and trees. I ventured forth as though I didn't have a heart, as though there was nothing left of me pushing me forward.

I watched my feet sink into the muddy ground as I continued forth. I needed food, but more importantly I needed water.

Suddenly a sound small whimper caused me to turn around and stare into the long abyss of unused space.

My thoughts heightened as I turned once more and whispered out into the bush "P...Ple...Pleas don't hurt me... Ple", I cried out to the anonymous noise, but to no avail. There was no response.

My body twisted causing knotted, wisps of dark hair to fly before my very eyes, I counted in my head

One, Two, Three.

I didn't know what the sound was, what it came from, for all I knew it could have come from a bird yet my imagination got ahead of myself.

Four, Five, Six.

I whispered mentally in my head.

Seven, Eight, Nine...

My fists clenched against each other.

Ten!

I ran, every fiber of my being forced into running as far and as fast as I possibly could.

But then there was a noise, a scream.

The scream tore through me like a great shard of glass. I felt my eyes widen and pulse quicken, my heart thudding like a rock rattling in box. The scream came again, desperate, terrified... human. The blood drained from my face, before I was even aware of making a conscious decision my legs were pounding furiously on the uneven muddy track, my ears straining for more sounds, more clues as to where it had come from. I had no clue as to what I'd do when I got there, just that I had to get there, fast.

I was not thinking logically, I was running.

The sound seemed to be getting louder and louder as I approached and I began to feel sick in the stomach as I felt the scream have an uncannily like resemblance to my mother.

I knew that I was getting closer as I saw a large object on the floor ahead of me.

I ran to it dropping on my knees as I saw my mother's mangled body in the heap on the ground as her eye twitched and her mouth moved slowly "It's all your fault", she started "I am dying AND ITS ALL YOUR FAULT", she screamed causing her blood to ooze out quicker.

I felt my eyes widen as I brought my hand to her face "Mama... Mama... What's wrong. Why are you here. What happened. Mama".

Her eyes glanced over me as a look of disgust passed over her features "I am not your mother, you sick monster", she batted my hand away from her face as my heart dropped "It's because of you your sister is dead and that I am going to die".

I looked at her pale face as she looked at me in disgust "I can't believe I raised you, your filth", she spat at my face.

Before I could even begin to process what she was saying her mouth began to froth with a red liquid as it gargled out of her mouth splashing the ground, her eyes went cold and lay gently staring at the sky and her hand lay limp to her side.

She was dead.

I collapsed onto the ground in a heap.
