Yoongi's POV-

"Good. We have some things to go over." I purse my lips before continuing. "Are you at my place?"

I hear him speak in a low tone to someone, I assume Yeol, before answering back into the receiver.

"It should be the next floor."

"Alright. Call me after Yeol shows you around a bit."

Before he can comment back I end the call.

He doesn't seem to recognize my name judging by his tone when he answered back with his own instead of Is it really you? or an excited exclamation of I'm a huge fan! I would have expected if he had recognized my name, which I'm happy about.

I prefer for us to be strangers to an extent and I have spoken with Yeol about being discrete with any personal information that's given to the guy, or kid rather as he sounded young.

This "Jungkook."

I trust Yeol's judge of character and I know he wouldn't have told the kid about the job if he didn't think he'd be suitable, I just have no interest in getting to know him.

I want to tell him what is expected of him, negotiate the appropriate pay then be done.

I turn to head back into my parents house since my call is finished. As soon as I step inside the smell of my mother's Pork Bulgogi cooking hits me.

My mouth immediately starts to water as I stride back into the kitchen to resume my designated task of preparing the rice.

After I left the café today I came back home, sat my parents down and came clean about seeing Irene the last few times I've come back to town.

My father sat silently, the corners of his mouth pulled down into a deep frown with his arms crossed, as he shook his head in disappointment.

My mother on the other hand was angry and, as expected, reached for the closest thing to her to whack me with.

She leapt off the couch wielding the pillow that had been on her lap and proceeded to give me a few hits upside the head, which I was mostly able to block with my arms.

She calmed down quite a bit once she got that out of her system and I was able to tell them about the fight we had that morning and some particularly cruel things Irene had confessed that caused me to have some long overdue realizations that led me to break things off for good.

She was so thrilled that she immediately called my aunt to share the joyous news (apparently my mother has been filling her in and ranting about Irene basically since she first met her) before she practically danced into the kitchen to start cooking a celebratory dinner.

Hopefully Yeol takes long enough to give the tour of the place and his own rundown of what the job entails before I get a call back from the kid. I'd really like to enjoy my meal uninterrupted.

Jungkook's POV-

"Alright. Call me after Yeol shows you around a bit."

When the line goes silent so abruptly I'm left a little surprised. While pulling the phone away to see the screen and confirm the call has ended the elevator stops and the doors open.

I place my phone back in my pocket as we both step into the hallway. Once we're out Chanyeol nods his head to the left, indicating that's the way we're heading.

It's a short walk to the apartment as it is the only door before the hallway ends about six meters away.

As Chanyeol takes out the key to get the door unlocked he says with a smirk, "Nice guy right?"

"Super nice." I say sarcastically back before I scoff. "I thought you said I'd like him?"

"What I said was that I thought you'd like him once you got used to him. He takes some warming up to, but he's a good guy."

After unlocking the door we step into an empty entryway and I'm stopped in my tracks as I see the view through the huge windows directly across from us that go from the dark wooden floor all the way to the high ceiling, displaying not only quite an extraordinary view but also how high up we actually are.

It's become rather dark outside and the lights from the buildings are breathtaking. It's like looking out across a sea of Christmas Lights.

I notice Chanyeol lean down to remove his shoes which reminds me to do the same, before stepping around him to walk further into the space.

After passing by a dark hallway to my right, a pretty good sized kitchen comes into view with a huge island topped with a dark grey slab of what looks to be granite that matches the countertops lining the far wall with dark cabinets above and below. On the far left side of the island is a space presumably for a dining table.

I also notice the light reflecting off the shiny chrome appliances that still have the stickers and protective films on them.

They are obviously new and have never been used.

The windows almost completely stretch around the room, besides two, two meter wide sections of white walls that separate the windows into large sections.

The furthest section wrapping around causing me to just now realize we are in one of the corner apartments of the building.

I turn fully to my left now and see that the room opens up to one big space where a good sized sectional sofa is pushed back against the wall facing the windows.

No other furniture is here at all so I don't know if it's just due to the lack of things filling the space, but this place seems huge.

I jump slightly at the click of the light switch from behind as the room is illuminated from above.

They almost take away from the view, tempting me to ask Chanyeol to switch them back off as they aren't really necessary with how brightly the city lights are shining.

I hear him walk slowly up to me from behind and stops beside me with his hands in his pockets as he too gazes out the window.

"Would you believe that this was his second choice? He wanted the unit on the opposite side of the building instead because he preferred the view of the office building on the other side of a dark alley over this." He sighs shaking his head, still looking out the window.

"Why on earth would he not want to wake up to this everyday?"

"He prefers to avoid the sun." He says rolling his eyes. "But I'm glad someone will be here to appreciate it."

After standing in silence, both mesmerized by the lights outside, we hear a knock on the door.

"That's probably your stuff." Chanyeol says as we turn towards the door. Once there he unlocks the deadbolt before opening the door just enough to see who has knocked before opening it fully.

There stands a nice looking gentleman and a small woman in the hotel uniforms with a golden luggage cart stopped between them, both smiling kindly up at Chanyeol.

He ushers them in and they lock the wheels on the cart before the man takes a bag in each hand, the woman one of my boxes then before stepping into the apartment.

He meets eyes with me and says, "Let's get this stuff to your new room shall we," before nodding his head in the direction of the room.

The three of us follow behind Chanyeol, turning right to enter the previously dark hallway where four doors are seen. Two on the right, one at the end straight ahead and one on the left.

Chanyeol walks to the furthest door on the right, opening it before stepping back for myself and the two helpers to enter the room.

It's a larger room than I expected it to be. It's got a nice sized bed with bedding and fluffy looking pillows already on it, a nightstand with a lamp atop next to it and there is a matching dresser against the wall to my left.

I also notice a dark blue velvet chair placed on the other side of the dresser in the corner. There is a door in front of me to the right that, which after further inspection is a closet.

I turn to the two still holding my belongings and ask them to just place the things near the foot of the bed.

They set the bags and boxes down they currently held before leaving to retrieve the remaining items on the cart; two additional boxes and one last duffle bag.

Once they bring the last of my stuff in and I've thanked them, I stay behind to shuffle things around a bit in my new room while Chanyeol walks the two back to the door.

Soon after I hear the door close, a quiet knock on the open door gaining my attention to where he is stood in the doorway.

"I had heard earlier from Jimin that you have had quite a long day. If you would like to have a shower and get a bit more settled before we continue the tour that would be fine."

"God, that would be amazing. Thank you." I exhale out.

"The bathroom is just here across the hall. I believe towels are in the cabinet next to the sink, there should also be soap and stuff in there too." He says as he takes his phone out of his pocket.

"I have a few calls to make so I'll just be in the living room when you're ready. If you need anything just yell." With that he turns to leave down the hall.

Once he's gone I dive onto my pile of bags, searching for the one I remember stuffing my more casual clothes in to find a t-shirt and some sweats as well as the bag with my toiletries.

After locating the items I open my door to exit, hearing Chanyeol talking loudly from the couch while crossing the hallway.

I open the door he had designated as the door to the bathroom and peaked in to confirm. I turn on the light, glancing around the spotless room before fully stepping inside, closing and locking the door behind me.

I immediately set my clothes down on the counter across from the door in the space next to the sink then open the cupboard as instructed to grab a towel to set out.

I notice the toilet in the far left corner of the room as I turn to face the shower, feeling immediately intimidated when I see it.

I am standing in front of a glass doored walk in shower with what looks like six different knobs to control a regular looking shower head, a detachable water wand thing and a rainfall shower head that's coming down from the ceiling.

I exhale loudly at the sight. Of course this place can't have just a normal ass shower in it. That'd be much too pedestrian.

For about two seconds I considered asking Chanyeol for help before deciding it couldn't be all that difficult to figure out.

After approximately two minutes turning every knob multiple times I was able to get the rainfall spout thing on the ceiling to work. The water wasn't very warm, but it was still water and as long as it would get me clean that's all I needed.

As I stood under the barely above room temperature water I felt a combination of exhaustion and relief hitting me.

I hadn't thought of any of the events at Tae's house since pulling up to the college and haven't had a chance to since.

Realizing I hadn't thought about it
of course made me start to think about it, but I still had a little fight in me and I wouldn't let myself fall down that hole right now.

Instead I try to find something to focus on and decide to do so on this shower and it's six knobs.

Would Chanyeol have even known any better than myself what knob controls what?

I don't think many people have these types of showers. Most people want to just get in and get out I would think. Not stand around for a while in a much too expensive shower. Who would want one of these?

Well, this guy did obviously. Or maybe it just came with the place and when he sees it he will hate it as much as I do.

That makes me start to think about that guy. The owner of this shower. I wonder what his profession must be to afford such a luxurious apartment with such a complicated, fancy shower. He seems like kind of a hard ass so maybe he's some sort of business man.

Chanyeol said I might like him once I got used to him, which makes me think he's either difficult or misunderstood. Or both. He sounded difficult on the phone.

Shit, the phone! I need to make sure to call him soon. He said we have "things to discuss."

Things to discuss. Thinking back on the call, I realize that I liked the sound of his voice. He would probably sound even better if he was saying nicer words.

I wonder what he looks like. Is he good looking? He sounds good looking. Maybe he is difficult but good look- I stop mid thought, eyes widening.

What the hell?! Why am I thinking about a man I've never met or even seen while showering?

Ugh, I'm a creep.
