"Hello?"

"Megan? I heard about the movie offer and agreed. You have to fly out to Seattle in a week." Said a voice.

"Mauricio! You said yes? You're the best dad ever!" she squealed.

Mauricio chuckled. "I would take you out for dinner but I'm at the pool until 9:30 and I have meetings over Eric until 1."

"Oh." Megan said softly. Tom noticed her dejected expression and looked at her concerned. When they had hung up, he asked if everything was all right.

"Yeah. My dad just has to work late again. I'll be fine home alone. I do it most of the time." She said. "See you guys in a week."

"Megan? Would it be ok if I stay the night? I don't want to be worried about you." Tom asked.

She nodded. "Eric always leaves spare clothes, you can borrow some of his."

As Tom walked into her room to change, the front door opened and Eric walked in. "Hey Superstar!"

"Don't you knock? Besides, I'm not famous, Mr. Olympian." Megan replied hopping up to sit on the island countertop.

"You will be. And I'm not an Olympian yet." Said Eric.

"Yeah, yet. So when are you going to Toronto to train?" asked Megan.

"Three days. I still haven't packed." He said

"I'll miss you." She said softly.

"Same." He said.

"Hey, Wait! Weren't you supposed to be on a date?" Megan said, coming to a realization.

"Uh, yeah, about that, Emma and I broke up." He said.

"Really! Again? Eric what did you do?" Megan said whipping his arm with a dishcloth. "Did you cheat on her with Angela?"

He nodded. Megan sighed. Tom walked in at that moment. "Hey Tom, this is my best friend Eric. Eric, Tom. Tom, Eric."

"Hey, nice to meet you." Tom said shaking Eric's hand. "So what were you two talking about?"

"Eric has decided to join the singles club." Megan joked. "He cheated. Again."

"Well maybe he just hasn't met the right girl yet." Tom replied. 

"hmm, like Megan?" said Eric.

"Hey!" exclaimed Megan. "I just don't want a boyfriend right now. ok?" 

"Ok. Whatever you say." Eric said sarcastically. "That's great that your love life is nonexistent."

Megan shot Eric a look.

"ehehehe." chuckled Tom. "You know you two would make a good couple right?"

"Tom, you have no idea how many people have told us that." said Eric.

"What did you say to them?" asked Tom.

"They could tell you, but they're not around anymore." Megan grinned mischievously. 

Tom feigned a look of horror. 

"So are you staying over?" Megan asked Eric.

He nodded. "Until you kick me out."

"What? Me? Never!" joked Megan. "What do you guys want to do?"

"Ooh! Cookies?"Tom said excitedly.

Megan laughed. He looked like an excited puppy. "Ugh. Fine."

Tom and Eric cheered. 

"I'm going to regret this later." mumbled Megan.
