Astrid's POV

We're all flying to Valka's Sanctuary to try and find 6 of one kind of a dragon to train and see who's best. Again. And yes I say again because we've done this before with Terrible Terrors but I guess they still want to comepte. I can't resist a competition though.

"How much longer my butt is numb!" Tuffnut complained.

"I have to go to the bathroom!" Ruffnut followed.

"Seriously do you two ever not complain?" Snotlout said.

"Apparently not." Fishlegs replied.

"We're almost there I can see it from here." Hiccup spoke.

"All I see is a bunch of pointy ice shards!" Tuffnut said.

Hiccup's POV

We landed in the cave where I first met mom.

"Ok we are going to have to walk the rest of the way the path is too small for the dragons wingspan." I said. Everyone dismounted their dragons and followed me through the path. After about 2 minutes of walking, we were there. "Alright guys welcome to the sanctuary." I said everyone stopped and looked around in awe. Oh yeah nobody else has seen this place except Mom, Astrid and I.

"Oh my Thor. So many new dragons!!" Fishlegs said.

"Easy there nerd your brain might explode." Snotlout said.

"At least I have a brain." Fishlegs retorted.

"Okay so there are obviously a lot of different kinds of dragons here so we should probably all agree of one species." I said.

"Wait, will the bewilderbeast get mad if we take dragons from here?" Astrid asked.

"No he'll be fine as long as we train them and don't wrestle them out of here." I said and glanced at Snotlout.

"Now why would I do that?" He said. We all rolled out eyes.

"Wait a minute bewilderbeast? You mean the thing that-" Fishlegs started but Astrid quickly covered his mouth. I walked over to the edge of the cliff since she was whispering to him.

"The other bewilderbeast." I whispered to him.

"Oh sorry." He apologized.

"Just stay clear of that topic guys I really don't want to upset Hiccup or Toothless." I whispered to them while Hiccup looked around for dragons to train.

"Why would it offend Toothless?" Snotlout asked.

"Toothless is really sensitive to the topic since he feels guilty about it." Fishlegs explained.

"Just don't mention it to either of them and it'll be fine." I stated.

"What if we mention something?" Tuffnut asked.

"You get to deal with a sad Hiccup, sad Toothless and a whole pitcher of Yak Nog." I said sassily. Everyone sat up straight and kept quiet.

"Guys I'm not going to train your dragons for you!" Hiccup said from the edge of the cliff that overlooks the bewilderbeasts lake. I walked over and stood next to him.

"What kind are you thinking about?" I asked.

"I don't know." He said. He suddenly gasped. "I got it! Gather around guys I know which dragons we're training!" He said. Everybody came around and looked at Hiccup. "We'll train Scuttleclaws!"

"Why those?" Astrid asked.

"Because they're babies! They don't listen to anyone!" I said.

"And that matters why?" Snotlout asked.

"It's going to be a bigger challenge to train them since they don't listen! So go find a Scuttleclaw baby and train it! We'll do it here since they can't fly that far. You have 5 hours!" I said and everybody ran off to find a Scuttleclaw.

I found a purple one sitting in front of a rock. It was pure purple with yellow-green eyes. It noticed me and stood up. I inched forward, holding my hand out. The dragon curiously stepped forward and placed his nose in my palm. For the next 4 and a half hours I taught him how to fly and do flips and tricks in the air. After I noticed the time was up, I called everyone back to where we split up.

"Alright guys prepare to be amazed at my dragons awesome skills." Snotlout bragged.

"Be my guest." Astrid sassed. Snotlout pointed to a sleeping Scuttleclaw behind him.

"That's it?" Tuffnut asked.

"Pretty cool huh?" Snotlout bragged again.

"I think I should go next." Fishlegs said. He whistled and a green Scuttleclaw flew around the rock and blew a ring of fire.

"Impressive Fishlegs." I said.

"It was not! All he did was answer to a whistle and blow fire!" Snotlout angrily said.

"It was better then yours." Ruffnut said.

"Shut up Ruffnut." Snotlout mumbled then began to pout.

"We'll go next." The twins said.

"Are they going to run into each other?" Astrid asked and crossed her arms.

"We won't go next." They said.

"My turn." Astrid said and pointed to another purple Scuttleclaw. It flew into the air and zipped around, dodging ice pillars and large rocks.

"Well done Astrid." I said. She smiled. "That leaves me." I whistled for the dragon. It came flying over rocks and around a ice pillar. It started doing flips and loops , then landed on the side of a rock pillar.

"He's still the best." Fishlegs mumbled.

"Alright gang, let's head back home." I said. They all mounted their dragons and started flying out. I decided to stay behind for a second, just to kind of clear my head.

I sat and dangled my feet over the edge of the cliff. Toothless was right beside me, and we just stared at all the dragons flying around.

"When you said head back home I thought that meant you too." Astrid said from behind me.

"Sorry milady. Just got caught up in some thoughts." I stood up and kissed her cheek. "Let's go."

Sorry if it's short I thought that would be a good spot to end the chapter.

So I have exactly a week until school starts again, so updates are going to be a little slower.

Just be patient I'll update as much as I can but I'm not sure how much homework high school is going to have.
