wednesday felt a bit relieved in a way with now knowing that tyler was technically innocent and not the bad guy. she didn't want him to be and it had hurt her more than she would admit when she had found out he was the hyde and had been manipulating her. it felt kind of nice to know that his feelings for her weren't fake.

that what they had hadn't all been a lie and had only been tainted by the orders laurel gave him. without that in the way she couldn't help but to wonder if they would actually work. they had until everything so she didn't see why not.

she had warmed up to him and even though she hadn't really told anyone, she did care about him a good deal and finding out the truth only made her feel for him more. it made her want to help him more with his hyde and to become protective. she wasn't going to let anyone abuse his hyde again. if she could help it, of course.

while she now knew more she wasn't eager to get back to a relationship status with him. she had a barrier around her heart now and even though she believed he was innocent, the barrier would be harder to get through now.

they could be friends and she would try her best to keep it as only that until she knew everything and figured out all her feelings as they were still very conflicted. everything that had happened wasn't something she could just easily forget about and leave in the past, even if it had been all mostly because of laurel.

her and tyler's relationship needed to be built back up again. and trust would be an important part of that.

besides, she wanted to keep her feelings to herself since she knew her parents would become even more annoying if they found out she and tyler might actually get together. she could already imagine her mom telling her, "i told you so."

her whole family would be absolutely thrilled about it, even her brother as she had noticed pugsley had taken a liking to tyler and caught them hanging out here and there. it warmed her heart a bit to know that they got along and that pugsley had made a friend, since at school he was an outcast and got bullied a lot.

wednesday was no longer regretting having brought tyler to her home. it had been good and would continue to be, especially for him. and for her as she would be able to put together all the information she's learned about hydes and all the rest she was bound to learn. they seemed so complex and there was hardly anything about them in any published texts.

a part of her wondered why. were they that rare? have a bad reputation? she wasn't a hundred percent sure and it interested her why hydes were considered outcasts even among outcasts. it seemed unfair.

if they weren't shunned she knew tyler probably would have ended up at nevermore and maybe even would have gotten help for his hyde and then none of what happened would've happened. that was wishful thinking though.

she couldn't help but to think about how things would be though if simple things like that had been different. they could've made such a difference. she pitied tyler too. having a monster that was apart of you that could be unlocked and controlled by someone sounded awful, at least when that someone is evil. losing control of yourself in a way. losing part of your freedom without being able to do anything about it.

wednesday wondered if tyler could get another master since laurel was dead. she wondered how someone could become his master, how many different ways there were. she had so many questions and she knew that even tyler wouldn't know the answers to all of them.

she wondered if there was anyone who did.

for now she was just glad tyler would stay, even if it was just for her. she wanted him to do it for himself though, but she understood how guilty and terrible he felt. she wished she could help ease those feelings but she didn't know how to or if that was even possible.

she hoped he would keep his word and that his demons and trauma wouldn't take over. god, she wished and hoped so much that the hazel eyed boy she had grown to care for would stay. and she didn't know it yet but she needed him to.

***

sorry if this chapter was kind of boring. i wanted to go more into wednesday's feelings, especially after what happened in the last chapter. it's kind of a filler, kind of not as i feel it's important still. i hope y'all are enjoying this fic so far and thank you for all the support and love on it! <3
