JANETS P.O.V

"It seems you love each other's company so much that you carried it all the way to the boy's washroom," Mrs McCartney taunts sarcastically.

"Ma'am uh-" I stutter but she raises her hand in dismissal.

"I don't want to hear it. Jason told me that Steven was cornering him and you saved him," she says and I sigh in relief while Steven curses under his breath.

"Your intention was good, but what you did is not right. So, as a punishment, you will have to not only select the script but also finalise the cast by tomorrow afternoon," she says and my jaw touches the floor.

Extra work. Just great.

"Mr Steven Rome, you will be assisting Janet Samuels for one month, till the first Drama competition gets over," she says and I guess my heart just stopped beating.

She is supposed to give him a punishment, not add on to mine.

"Ma'am that's-" I argue but she cuts me off.

"Do you want me to make it for the entire year?" she asks and I shake my head before looking down. I chew on my bottom lip and steal a glance at Steven who looks anything but happy.

"You like it here?" Mrs McCartney asks me and I blush before furiously shaking my head and moving out of that place.

I hear the voice of heels moving in an another direction and release a breath I didn't realise I am holding.

Out of all people, Jason found Mrs McCartney only? At least he covered for me, otherwise she would have had me clean the school's floor for a week.

What was Jason doing in school so late yesterday? That boy just got more mysterious.

I am so consumed in my thoughts, I don't hear the footsteps approaching me. I am caught by the arm and turned around to face none other than, Steven Rome.

What does he want now?

"I want one last answer," he says rudely and my eyes widen.

Did I just say that out loud?

"Yes, you said that out loud. Will you please stop now and listen to me!?" he yells and I nod furiously, my attention fully on him now.

"You were seriously going to complain about me, like a five year old?" he asks me seriously but the amusement dancing in his eyes says another story all together.

"Yeah so-" I say after frowning but he cuts me off.

"So you really were going to. What were you going to say?" he asks and I frown harder.

"listen-" he cut me off again.

"Ma'am you know what? Steven Rome does creepy business in school..." he said imitating a five year old and I clench my fists.

"Jus-" the third time he cut me off.

"Or you're going to say it like- Steven Rome is a very naughty boy, he troubles me. Punish him! Don't give him any chocolates anymore," he says in a squeaky voice and wiping his nose in the middle for special effect.

I agree this would be really funny but he is making fun of me right now, and I don't like it one bit.

I simply glare at him and he looks me in the eye with equal challenge.

"You're such a baby," he says and I had enough. I couldn't control myself anymore.

I push him hard on his chest and he stumbles back in shock. Unfortunately, he didn't fall and saves himself last moment.

"I'm not a baby. Don't call me that," I yell and glare at him before walking away as fast as I can.

What a start to my day.

****************************

I am shocked, stunned and happy all together.

Why? Because the entire work that I was supposed to do in the auditorium, is already done. I enter in and move towards the stage, to see all the old backdrops are removed and the new ones are out, ready to be put on. I move backstage to see all the stage props arranged neatly. On the nearby table, there is a list of everything we have and everything we may need.

The even more amusing thing is that it is jotted down in ten different writing styles, so you couldn't pin point the person who wrote this.

I move to the center of stage and put my hands on my hips.

Only if the person who did this would have informed me that he or she is doing it. I wouldn't have woken up an hour early and wouldn't end up having that annoying jerk as my partner.

I check my watch to see I have a good half an hour left with me before school starts.

What am I going to do?

I keep my bag on the side and start strolling on stage to waste my time. I reach the end of the stage and then decide to try out a jump that I watched in an contemporary dance performance video.

Thanks God I'm wearing my sweats.

I look around to make sure I am absolutely alone.

I could practice this one move. No one would come to know. I start playing soft music using my phone.

I go ahead and try the jump and pick up from there. I do it perfectly. I try it again.

And that way one move becomes two moves and in no time, I'm dancing and lost in it.

That's the effect dancing has on me. I get lost in it. When I dance, I'm in my own world of magic. There's nothing else but me and the beats of the music. It calms my nerves.

"You dance really well," a voice I recognised immediately broke me out of my reverie and I landed flat on my ass. I look up to see who it is and I'm right. It's none other than Steven Rome. He has this arrogant smirk on his face and I know for sure that I'm in trouble.

"Why are you following me?" I yell and he let out a humourless laugh.

"Who do you think you are? Queen of England? I am not following you. I came to give you this," he says and raises his hand to show me the bunch of papers he has.

"Mrs McCartney sent this," he says and starts walking towards me with a victorious smirk. He climbs up on stage and starts walking around me in circles, like a predator does around his prey. I'm glaring at him and with every passing moment, his annoying smirk becomes wider and wider.

"So, this is like you're secret talent, huh?" he says and I bite my lower lip.

Fight it Janet. You can't lose hope.

"How do you know it's a secret?" I say and stand up.

"Oh, so it's not a secret?" he asks and I just shrug trying to act all usual and calm.

"Okay, that's great! So why don't you perform for the drama we are putting up? You know a dance performance would lift up our act. I'll go and give this suggestion to Mrs-" he says before turning and leaving when I stop him.

"No! Wait..." I stop him and cross my arms on my chest, like a grumpy kid while he turns with a victorious smile.

"I don't believe this! Don't you know that you are supposed to knock before you enter?" I yell at the arrogant jerk standing in front of me.

Way to go Janet. Out of everything, you said this. Dear brain, is this all you could come up with? It isn't your room, why would he knock.

"Don't you know that you should lock the door if you're doing something important? Besides, it's not your private room," he counters with a teasing smirk, leaning on the wall behind him. I just shut my eyes trying to control my anger.

My secret, the one I have kept in the confines all my life, is now out. It's not just out, it is out to my sworn enemy.

"So baby Janet, what are we going to do now? You sure don't want this secret to be out, right?" he asks and I nod before gritting my teeth.

Like I have an option. Plus that stupid nickname. It's a romantic pet name, but just had to ruin it for me.

"So we are going to have to make a deal," he says, pushing himself off the wall and stuffing his hands in his pocket.

"A deal where I keep your secret and you keep your nose out of mine," he says and walks out, leaving me alone to deal with my misery. I pick up my stuff and swing it in my shoulder before walking out in frustration.

One morning is all it took for life to turn upside down and become a bitch.

I am walking towards my class when I spot Jason walking towards class as well.

I am about to call out to him when I think against it. If I call him, he will avoid me and disappear. I am in no mood of being ignored. So I run and block his way. His eyes widen because he knows exactly what's going to happen now.

I have questions and he is going to be giving me answers.

I have alot of matters happening around me. I'm going to dealing with all this and I'm starting with him.

"We need to talk," I whisper and drag him to a nearby classroom.

A/N - I hope you guys like this chapter :)

It's a little bit confusing and Janet is being a little stupid to settle for a deal like that, I know. But this is just how she is.

She, at no cost, wants the world to know that she can dance right now. So she is doing what ever she is doing.

I hope you guys understand her character :)

Wait for the next chapter, it's going to be a curtain Raiser.

I love you guys for reading :)
