The contest called for a poem inspired by any winter time celebration. I submitted this Haiku celebrating the life cycle of winter closing and the impending arrival of spring. Somewhat akin to  the view the best thing about my home city of Melbourne being ... the road that leads to Sydney!

Winter's Wake

The days are warming
new growth about to shout out
winter is ending
