Tough Love

Drew and his girlfriend May were sitting on his basement couch, enjoying each other's company.

"Hey Drew? Why were you so mean to me when I first started coordinating?" May asked. She tilted her head slightly. Drew couldn't help but think it was so cute. He grinned at her.

"Tough love," he said, jokingly. May giggled.

"I'll never get used to hearing you say that," May said, snuggling up against him. He wrapped his arm around him, bringing her closer.

"Saying what?" He asked her. She smiled softly.

"That you love me," she closed her eyes, she looked so peaceful. Drew could honestly say, he liked this face more than her cute angry puffed up one. He laughed.

"What?" May asked, her dazzling blue eyes now open and staring into his eyes.

"May, I don't recall saying that I loved you just now. I believe the words were 'Tough love.' " He said slyly. She slapped him playfully on the chest.

"Shut up," she laughed softly as she leaned her head on his shoulder. Things were silent for a moment between the two.

"Hey May?" Drew asked.

"Hmm?" She hummed.

"I love you," he smiled. She opened her eyes.

"I love you too, you jerk," she giggled. He cupped her face with his hands, and kissed her.
