Hesitant ,scared and full of doubts ,
With constant whisperings to turn around .
He entered the mosque,
Long forgotten when he had visited this place last,
With eyes downcast & hammerring heart,
Fearing people will know who he was.
A man consumed in sins,
A man who lost all his friends and kins .
As he chased worldly desires,
A hypocrite ,arrogant  ,cruel and a liar,
A man just worthy of hell fire,
With body exhausted and soul tired.
He moved to perform ablution,
Long it had been , hence filled with confusion.
He looked at others,
Painted with colours,
Of shame and guilt,
But determined not to quit ,
Unaware , this was Lord 's mercy and gift .

He stood with others in line,
Shunning the whispers to run, time to time.
This was it,
Niyyah was done ,his first step to submit.
Raising his hands,
O how long it had been since he fulfilled these commands.
He said the takbeer,
Something crumble in his heart which was said to be made of steel,
It was not a foreign feel, but something surreal,
Something soothing, something meant to heal,
His broken soul,
And slowly tears started  to roll
Down his cheeks,
His lips were sealed,
But it was his heart that speaked,
As he kneeled ,
And prostrated ,
His existence found peace as it came back to the place for which it was created.
His heart involved in repentance ,
As his lips failed to conjure sentences.
Whimpers, sobs and tears,
Oblivious was he now to the stares.
It was now just him and his RAB,
What he himself couldn't hear was reaching Heavens above,
If this was not love,
Then what it was,
To be given an another chance,
When the world refused even to glance .
Submerged in sins ,he had waited for his end to begin,
But his Rab brought him back,
Even after what he did and lacked .
He didn't know whether he cried more cause of HIS mercy or for forgiveness,
O! he realized that tears could also lead a way to happiness.

This was his homecoming,
Where he realized his life's true purpose and meaning!
