His breath was taken away as he saw the plume of water centered around where she dived.

He froze.

She didn't know how to swim.

The black water drenched her. It drowned her, pulling her helpless body under into the endless ink pool. She kicked her legs, trying to get back to the surface. She tried to hold her breath, keeping the oxygen captive inside her lungs.

But she couldn't any longer.

She opened her mouth with a gasp, water rushing in. It filled her throat, her nose, her eyes.

And the clock ticked down as it began to fill her lungs.

She closed her eyes.

"If I am to die, I will die knowing I fulfilled his wishes. I would do anything for him. For him."

He passed back and forth on the grass, growing more worried by the second.

He mumbled to himself.

"Why did she jump in...? Why did she do that? She knows she can't swim.... It was so foolish.... Does she really love me that much?"

He finally stopped and began stripping down to his boxers. He ran and jumped in after her.

"I'm coming for you. I'll save you."
