The elevator clanks, and comes to a stop in between floors.

"Did we just...?" The tall, lanky woman asks under her breath, eyes on the floor number.

"Yeah..." The short, lean man - the only other living thing in the elevator- admits, "I think we are." He walks to the panel of buttons and taps one, waiting for something to get them back up and moving again.

        Nothing happens.

The man pushes another button, harder this time. And another button. And another.

"No," The woman interrupts, "Don't hit it, just press it. Gently."

"I am pressing it!" The man growls, slamming both hands down onto new buttons, and continues to do so, "and it's not working!" He hits the buttons one last time so hard that the shaft shakes.

"Well, if that's pressing gently, I'd hate to see what happens when you're actually trying." The man wheels around to face her.

"I don't see you making an effort, here!" He argues, fanning himself with his shirt as best he can without taking it off, "Is it hot in here?"

"No," The woman says in a sarcastic tone, rolling her eyes, "It's not like someone is -" she pauses to sneeze violently, "Uh, do you have a cat?" She asks before continuing to sneeze violently for a short while, unable to stop.
