Maui POV

She was... she was kissing me! I was shocked for a moment before I kissed her back. When we pulled apart she looked up at me with her innocent milk chocolate eyes. "I-I love you Moana. I have for a awhile now."

She looked me in the eyes and blushed. "I love you too."

She looked at the entrance of the cave and made a sad smile. "I wish I weren't the Chief's daughter."

I looked at her in shock. "Why's that?"

"Being the chief's daughter means I have responsibilities to maintain. I don't want to have those responsibilities. I want to explore. Not sit and lecture people," she sighed.

I stood and so did she. "I know it's tough having such a high reputation. Trust me. It sucks sometimes. But we pull through."

"Maui, I won't be around for the rest of my life. By the time I can actually go and do what I want, it'll be to late."

She shook her head and walked out of the cave.

"And where are you off to?" I asked.

"I'm heading down to the beach, wanna come?"

"I'd love to," I replied.

We walked out of the cave and headed back down the mountain. Moana put Moon back inside of her necklace and grabbed a leaf. She turned and smirked at me. "Watch this."

She went back up the hill a little before running down with the leaf in hand. She leapt onto an over hanging tree with it. She grabbed the lead on the other side and slid down the tree.

She let go around the end and landed on her feet before turning to look at me. I was awestruck. She smiled and bowed.

She always finds some new way to impress me. I turned into a hawk and flew down to meet her.

"Well that was impressive," I remarked.

"What was that? I'm afraid I didn't hear you. Speak up a little," she said with a smirk.

I growled under my breath. "I said, that was impressive."

She made a face of mock shock. "Really? The great Maui, demigod of the wind and sea, hero to all. Telling me something I did was impressive?"

"Don't get to cocky now," I warned.

"Look who's talkin," she chuckled.

I smiled and rolled my eyes. "Yeah yeah."

She smirked and took off to the beach. I chased after her with a smile. She ran into the woods and lost me after a few minutes. I slowly prowled around, looking for any hints as to where she went.

A light weight bowled into me with such force that I fell down. I heard a chuckle. "Moana one, Maui zero."

I stood up and turned around to see a smirking Moana looking at me.

"Are we going to the beach or what?" she asked.

"Alright, alright," I said. "Let's go."

She snickered ad ran say again. I groaned but chased after. When I reached the beach she laughed and ran into the water.

The sun had fully set and the moon was about a fourth across the sky.

I smiled to myself as I saw Moana swimming among the waves. She was so beautiful.

But my smile turned to a frown as I remembered something. Something bad. It was dangerous for an immortal to fall for a mortal. It would navel work out. I furrowed my brow and shook my head to clear it. We would work something out. I know we would.
