Maui POV

As I flew higher and higher on my hawk form, I relished the wind in my feathers. Once I was about a hundred yards off the ground, I looked back.

I saw Aisake take Moana's hand and spin her a little at the edge of the crowd. I could hear quiet music playing. Oh, so he was dancing with her?

I watched them as they danced, going at a slow pace, but fast enough to keep up with the beat. I flew down to the ground as my wings steadily grew tired.

When I reached the ground, Aisake and Moana were still at the edge of the crowd. The jealousy slowly started to bubble up, but I forced it down. What was wrong with me?

Getting jealous of Moana dancing with Aisake, a brotherly like figure to her, shouldn't make me jealous. I just shrugged it off and watched the dance.

Moana was smiling that childish smile I hadn't seen in awhile. Aisake was laughing and soon, so was Moana.

I sighed and went to the cave I had shown Moana a few days ago. It was just as we had left it. The same paintings the same dim light. Although I noticed something unusual. A faint glimmer in the corner of the cave.

I walked over to it and picked up whatever it was. I gasped at the beautiful rock I held in my hand. It shimmered in the full moon light and it seemed to be made if quarts. It was small and oval with shining specks of silver and diamonds.

I smiled to myself. Moana's birthday was in two weeks, I could give it to get then. The piece seemed to vibrate in agreement. I looked it up and down curiously.

The quarts didn't feel wrong on any way. It was small enough to fit into Moana's necklace, it was about the size of Te Fiti's heart, which would make it easier to hide. I smiled to myself again, forming a plan in my head.

I walked back out to the party. Aisake and Moana seemed to be looking for something. "What are you looking for?"

"Oh! Hi Maui! It was you, actually," Moana responded with a bright smile. "I saw your dance," I said. "You seemed very good, both of you."

Moana blushed a little and Aisake was scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, it wasn't that good, I was a little slow on my feet," Moana said humbly. "And I could have been better," Aisake said, nodding.

Moana yawned. "Head to Fiona and have your bandages changed, then get to bed," Aisake ordered. "I'm fine,
hon—" Moana began, but I cut her short. "Listen to him."

"Moana rolled her eyes and limped in the direction of the healers hut. Aisake sighed, "She's so stubborn."

"You're talking for the both of us," I chuckle in return.

Dawn was just beginning to break. All of the villagers were in bed, now for my plan. I slipped into my hut and write the following on a piece of paper:

Hey Mo, it's Maui. I give you this quarts as a sign of how much you shine in the darkest of times. This rock glows bright under the moons light. Don believe me? Test it. I hope you like it. It fits in your necklace, so you can take it anywhere.

- Maui

I folded the slip of paper and wandered over to Moana's hut. Once I was there, I transformed into my beetle and carried the two thing over to Moana's bed.

I leapt inter her collar bone and silently opened her necklace. I put the two things in it before closing the necklace and leaping off.

I glanced back at Moana before I left. She was adorable, even when she slept. But I could see all of her ribs. I sighed, I'll talk to Tui tomorrow, I thought as I walked away.
