Miko's P.O.V.
'Uhg. School sucks more than usual today.' I thought as I sat in class. Today was Friday. And usually, I wouldn't mind it, including the fact that summer vacation starts tomorrow, but the fangirls today were more jumpy than normal.

You see, tonight is the end of the year dance at my high school here in Japan. I never go to any of the dances. Most of the time is cause I'm never asked. Cause I'm too feared. And the fact that I always end up crying going to one of the dances, seeing the couples together, while I'm the only single one there.

Anyway, that is besides the point. The fangirls were worse than usual cause they all wondered who Sesshomaru, the most popular student in the school and is school President, will take to the end of the year dance. Apparently it is a big deal. I mean, yes, I'm attracted to him as well, but I gave up on him.

He wouldn't like me anyway. With me being so violent and rude. And some of the fangirls, not a lot but enough, are prettier than me. So, I tried my best to ignore them. It was hard, but I did it. During 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period, I couldn't help but notice that Sesshomaru is staring at me all the time with his emotionless, but gorgeous, golden eyes.

His fangirls would look at me all angry before trying absolutly everything to get his attention off of me. But he never spared them a glance. Only me. I didn't know wether to feel glad that I'm getting attention, special that my crush is staring at me, or terrified of what he might be planing. You can never read him. His ex though, Rin, my best friend, said that once they were together, he was more readable. And they separated on good terms. They both thought it wasn't working out, so they thought it was best to go separate ways.

It sounds tragic, but it really wasn't. She was happy. As long as she is, so am I. It was lunch now. So I sneaked up to the roof and sat there. Or, what my imagination provided me for lunch. You see, I had a big family. Three younger sisters, and four younger brothers. My father died two months before my youngest sibling was born. Mother died at my youngest siblings birth cause of massive blood lose. I did have an older twin brother. But he went missing during the war. After a few months of endless searching, he was pronounced dead. So I have to work 15 jobs. It may sound a lot, but I found a routine.

But, the money was really only enough to feed my siblings. And that was if we rationed it. So I always go to bed hungry. But I kept telling them it was okay. So I watched the other people down on the ground, laughing, talking, gossiping, and eating large amounts of food. Usually wasting it all. Or saying that they have the worst lunch. I heard someone walk onto the roof. I turned my head enough to notice Sesshomaru walking up to me and sitting beside me.

I stayed silent and looked back at the crowds of people on the school yard, with there friends, laughing. Sesshomaru's fangirls were looking for him, but they won't find him, cause he is beside me. But if they do, they'll kill me. I felt something on my lap. I looked down and noticed a bento box. I looked at Sesshomaru. He was looking out at the yard of people as well.

"S-Sesshomaru? Why-?" I started to speak, but Sesshomaru cut me off. "You haven't ate in months, you need to eat. I can get food somewhere else. You can't. So eat." My eyes widened slightly. Well, who wouldn't be shocked. I also forgot to mention that he is rich as well. And I also forgot to mention that he has a new girlfriend, Kagura. I hate her guts. She is rude, self absorbed, and doesn't care about him. She just likes to spend his money.

"Th-thank you." I said, trying to calm down my blushing state at how caring he really was. I started moving the bento box off my lap so it was gonna sit beside me. "I'll eat it la-". Sesshomaru grabbed my wrist. You would think that it would hurt. Cause he is so strong, but it was actually very gentle, yet firm. "You need to eat. Or do you want to die?" He said in his monotone voice.

I didn't know what to say to that. He is showing that he cares. Or he is just doing his job as Student President, either way, I'm touch with his concern. So, with a soft sigh, I nodded. "Alright. You win. I'll eat." And I do so with chopsticks. after I swallowed the first bite, I smiled softly. "These are all my favorite foods. I have forgotten what they tasted like."

Sesshomaru didn't look at me, which was okay in my opinion. I didn't want to embarrass myself anymore than I probably already have. I finished eating and neatly put it away. "Again, thank you." I said with a soft smile. "Hn." Was all he said. But that was normal. "Will you come to the dance tonight with me?" I was shocked when I heard this. 'He just asked me to a dance!' I calmed myself down.

"Yes, I would love to. But, what about Kagura? Aren't you taking her?" I asked. "Don't worry. I have that taken care of." He said. I know, I shouldn't, but I trust him. so i nodded. We discussed what time and when we were going to meet. I thought about my emotions towards him. I was about to speak when we heard a loud and annoying voice. "Sesshomaru darling! There you are! I have been looking all over for you!" Kagura said as she ran over and hugged Sesshomaru.

She didn't even notice my presents. "So, are you ready for the dance tonight? I can't wait to go to it with you!" I forgot to mention, she knows about my crush on Sesshomaru. We were best friends until she learned who my crush was. I felt anger course through me, along with sadness and betrayal. I quickly grabbed my things, and quickly left to the girls washroom. I locked myself in a stall and cried. 'Why did this have to happen to me.....?'
