Jorge and Joycelin face each other. Coach Caesar blows the whistle, and Jorge kicks off, leaving Joycelin in possession. Freida quickly steals, but Rica takes it back, and passes to Marie, who passes it to Ann, who passes it back to Jorge, all because of the opposing team.

Well, gee, guess they've got the same strategy.

"Pass here," says Joycelin. Jorge passes, and Joycelin shoots, but Diane slides to the side and catches it.

Goddammit Joycelin, when was the last time one of our actual strikers scored a goal?

Diane kicks the ball, and though she intended for the ball to be received by Paula, Rosalind quickly steps in and advances with the ball. Rubye only steals it back, however, and makes her way towards the Crucifijo goal.

Ann runs back. Mandee steals, but Freida takes it back. Sofia stays focused on her defense of the goal, but as Freida approaches, she suddenly passes to Rubye, who kicks past Sofia and scores.

"CANGREJO DESTRUIROS A TODOS!" the Cangrejo cheer, along with their two cheerleaders.

"C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!" countercheer the Crucifijo along with their three cheerleaders.

"This ain't the end yet," shouts Jorge.

"You heard 'em!" shouts Chieli. "C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!"

"Can't you guys keep quiet for a minute or two?" Ronald complains. "We're tryna win here, you know."

"Trying to," Taniya emphasises.

"Nope, we're Crucifijo pride through-and-through and we're not gonna stop cheering 'till our house brings home the bacon," answers Mei. "C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!"

"Where's Nicole?" asks Orelya.

"Doesn't she play volleyball?" asks Taniya.

"No, I saw her on her way to the infirmary while I was coming here," counters Mei. "She looked dizzy or something. Why?"

"Nothing," replies Orelya. "It just feels weird when you're cheering and she ain't around."

"Talk about Teresa," says Mei.

"Talk about Ann," responds Taniya.

"Nah, she's subconsciously been cheering for Navio since this morning even if we're already losing," Orelya rejects. "April told me."

"Thinking about it, not counting when we were heading down to the gym today, Ann has not cheered once for Crucifijo today," Taniya gossips.

"Nah, she cheered Crucifijo when she was watching us play volleyball," refutes Orelya.

"Guys! Get ready," warns Chieli. "Crucifijo's about to score again!"

Marie passes to Rica, who then passes to Joycelin. She shoots, and guess what? It bounces off the goalpost.

"You were saying?" responds Orelya.

"C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!"

"This is good," says Taniya. "Our team scores whenever there's a corner kick or free kick."

"Ykielle scored normally yesterday," Mei reminds.

"Well, did the opponent team ever score when there was a corner or free kick, and was there ever a corner or free kick where Crucifijo didn't score?" asks Taniya. "I didn't say 'only'."

"In the matches the boys played, probably," Chieli answers.

Rubye kicks the ball, and Kit, who was man-to-man with Gwen, kicks it toward the goal. Guess what? It hits and bounces off the shins of the person in the middle of the goal.

"Is it still a goal when it's on the line?" asks Marie.

"No, it has to be after the line," answers Jorge.

"Let's kick it in further," Ann suggests.

"No, Ann, no," replies Rosalind.

hello darkness my old friend

"Eh, who cares about rules?" says Rica.

"Are we sharing the same brain or something?" asks Ann.

"How much time left?" asks Aaliyah.

"We're 69 minutes in," says Coach Caesar.

That's 9+10 minutes left...

"Goal kick right there," comments Rosalind. "Halfway mark is the best area to go to."

"Nah, us shorties always dominate the front," Ann replies.

They get into position. Diane kicks.

Though Freida quickly receives, Jorge quickly snatches it and runs. In order to prevent offside, she passes back to Marie. Paula snatches and passes to Zoe (Cangrejo!), only for Ann to snatch it and pass it back to Jorge.

Jorge kicks, and Diane blocks it as if it were a volleyball. Ann receives and kicks again.

"C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!"

Says Rica who was only excited for the goal score; unfortunately, the ball bounces off the goalpost.

"Bruh," responds Bettina.

"Not my fault she didn't score," Rica answers. "At least we have a corner kick now!"

As usual, Rubye kicks. Rica receives, and passes to Jorge, who kicks.

"C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!" shout the cheerleaders.

"What's the score? 3-1?" asks Taniya.

"Yep," affirms Mei.

"Hey guys," greets Nicole. "I'm back and I've been substituted by now. What's the score?"

"They just scored," says Chieli. "Us. Crucifijo."

"Tatlo Crucifijo," says Orelya.

"How much time left?"

"Not sure."

"Less than 5 minutes left," says Mr. Fischer. "But I've heard that they sometimes add an extra minute at the end of a half. Not sure why, though."

"Like that's gonna make a difference," comments Orelya.

"Malay mo," replies Nicole.

"Less than five minutes left..." Taniya mumbles to herself.

Kick-off starts with Rubye passing to Freida. Coach Caesar blows his whistle. "Time!"

"C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!"

"I suppose a second's less than five minutes," says Orelya.

"High-five," says Jorge, high-fiving Rubye.

"We won the finals!" Ann applauds. "C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!"

"High-five!" shouts Chieli. "Who's winning volleyball?"

"Campana, sadly," Nicole answers. "It's hard playing against the big three of volleyball in our batch. You know, Yso, Alec, and Isabela?"

"But we have Ykielle," retorts Taniya. "And you."

"But we're not varsity, and we don't get to play with a net as often as they can. Sayang."

"Well, look on the bright side. We won football, and we still have a chance at badminton, basketball girls, 100-metre dash — it's all good in the hood," says Ann. "We're Casa de Crucifijo. We got this!"

C! R-U-C! I-F-I! J---O! CRU-CI-FI-JO!
