Chapter two

Alex dug through their closet, looking for her duffel bag. Finding it, she pulled it out and brought it over to the bed.

She opened the nightstand drawer and pulled out her pistol, holy water, and a bunch of syringes full of dead man’s blood. “Paranoid much?” Gabriel asked, looking over her shoulder.

“It was just in case.” Alex shrugged, packing the items with a few other things, like her shotgun and machette. She planned on turning her trunk into a storage place for her weapons like the Winchesters did.

“You could always just smite them and not risk getting killed, yanno.” Gabriel reminded.

“Yeah but that’s no fun.” Alex smirked a bit. She slung the bag onto her shoulder and turned toward the archangel, “Ready?”

         “Yeah, let’s go.”

 ~

They easily located the vampire nest, there wasn’t many abandoned places in town. Alex handed Gabriel a machete from her camaro’s truck and he sighed, “It’s like it’s a game for you.”

“Nah, I just enjoy killing monsters. You don’t feel like you did anything really if you just smite them.” Alex shrugged.

“Didn’t you get turned into a vampire last time you tried to take on a vamp nest?” Gabriel asked, walking with her to the small abandoned warehouse.

Alex chuckled, “Oh yeah. But that was a while ago. I think I’m a little better now.”

“And then there was that werewolf after that, and then the djinn,” Gabriel continued. “And don’t get me started on the times Luci got you.” He joked, hoping he didn’t trigger something.

“Well….I..uh…” Alex trailed off. “I guess I kinda suck huh? But I did good with the croats that Pestilence made!”

“Yeah? You didn’t really tell me about that.”

“Oh? Woops.” Alex chuckled again. They neared the building and they both quieted, slowly creeping in through a side door and hiding behind some old pallets.

Because it was day, all of the vampires were asleep. Alex spotted a few girls in chains in some sort of jail cell on the other side of the warehouse. “There’s still some humans here.” Alex whispered. “See, this is why you don’t smite everything, kinda kills the them too.”

“Yeah, yeah. You get them, I’ll get the vamps in there.” Gabriel whispered back, sneaking around her to get closer to a door that lead to another, smaller, part of the warehouse.

Alex ran across the room to the girls, who started whimpering and crying when she neared them. “Hey, shh. I’m gonna get you out of here,” Alex tried to quiet the girls.

One of them, who was in her own cell, groaned painfully and fangs sprouted from her gums. “Oh crap.” Alex muttered and crawled over to the girl. “Hey, who turned you?” The girl ignored her and tried to jump at her. Alex took a few steps back, “I wouldn’t do that. I hear my blood tastes like shit.” She tried to keep her voice down. “Now, who turned you?”

“It...It was that one,” One of the girls in the other cell spoke up, her voice shaky. She raised her hand and pointed to a man with blond hair sleeping on the floor, using a jacket as a blanket.

“Okay.” Alex nodded. Alex stood and pulled the metal barred door, easily breaking the lock with her super-strength. “C’mon, everyone out.” The girls slowly stood up and ran past her, confused at how she freed them so easily.

A girl with long black hair like Alex’s walked past the blonde sleeping vampire, pausing to look at him. Her hair fell into her face, covering it. She opened her mouth a little and flinched slightly as white fangs pushed through her gums.

“Aye, girl. Get out of here, it’s not safe.” Alex walked over to the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder. The girls head snapped up and she turned to her, making Alex jump back in surprise. The girl used this to her advantage and jumped on Alex, pinning her to the ground. Every time.. Alex pushed the girl off of her swiftly and stood up, at the same time the other vampires began to stir from all the noise. Crap.

The girl came after Alex again, and Alex reluctantly pulled her machete out. “Hey now, I can cure you. You just need to calm down.” She backed up a few steps.

“You’re not curing anyone.” The blond vampire hissed from behind her. Alex quickly turned to him and cut his head off, and it bounced away.

Before Alex had a chance to collect his blood, the black haired girl ran to attack her again. “Ok, you need to stop.” Alex hit her with the handle of her machete, knocking the girl out.

More vampires came after her, they had all awoken now. Alex saw a white light from the other room and chuckled a bit as she beheaded a few vampires. Looks like Gabriel’s started too.

Once they all were dead, she looked around, trying to find the blond vampire to collect his blood. She found him, near the black haired girl and walked over, filling an empty syringe with some of his blood that was still in his body. “What’s that for?” Gabriel asked, walking over from the other room.

Alex nodded to the knocked out girl and the other one that was still in her cell, “They got turned.”

“How do you know they haven’t fed yet?”

“Well they wouldn’t have been tied up if they were full vampires,” Alex placed the syringe in her pocket and walked to the girls cell, “If I let you out, are you going to try and kill me?” The girl shook her head, her dirty brown hair falling into her face. Alex pulled open the cell and walked in, grabbing the girl by the arm and helping her up.

“Where do you wanna bring them?” Gabriel asked, picking up the other girl.

“Uhm. No idea. We have to cure them first, then maybe a hospital?” Alex shrugged.

 ~

Alex walked out of the hospital with Gabriel, they had just finished curing the girls and checking them into the hospital. They had lied and said they found them on the side of the road, and the girls had agreed to not mention any vampires.

“So, I’ll meet you at the apartment, ok?” Alex broke the silence.

“Why, where do you have to go?” They both stopped at Alex’s car.

“Well, I miss Leo and I want to go get him.” Alex admitted.

“Even if you have to deal with your dad?”

“Yeah. I’ll be fine though.” Alex soothed, already knowing he’d be worried.

“Yeah, ok. Don’t take too long.”

         “I won’t.”

~

Alex stopped at a coffee shop, exhausted from her lack of sleep recently. I wasn’t having nightmares before, why now?

She ordered her coffee and left, not wanting to be social. Alex walked down the sidewalk to her car, not exactly paying attention. “Hey, watch it!” She snapped at as a man with short, messy, black hair bumped into her, knocking her coffee to the ground.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” The man stopped and turned to her. “Are you alright?” He looked at her with dark green eyes.

“Uhm….Yeah...” Alex didn’t expect him to actually stop. His expression was hard to read, but she could tell that he was concerned, somewhat.

“How about I buy you a new one and we can get to know each other?” He offered.

“No. It’s okay. I’m fine.” Alex assured taking a step towards her car that wasn’t too far away.

“No, I insist. I’ve been wanting to talk to you, Alex.”

Author's Note-

I decided because it's Christmas I'd be nice and post another chapter tonight and then another tomorrow :D But after that it'll probably be every day or every other day, I'm not sure yet.

And everyone in my house is bitchy and I don't feel like dealing with them so I wanted to edit and write and shit.
