The bridge rumbled underneath him, the forefront of an approaching storm. But Kanan didn't feel it. All he felt was....cold. He had killed him....had KILLED him....HE HAD KILLED HIM!

Dazed, he saw Hera distantly, covering her mouth with one hand, shocked, realizing what he did now. He realized what he had done, briefly, he had done what every Master had nightmares of their Padawan doing, he had tapped into the Dark Side. The world felt like it was crumbling beneath his feet. "I killed him." Kanan heard himself whisper. He let himself go limp, wishing he could crawl away and get eaten by an angry Frynock.

"Kanan!" The world spun in a sickening blur, and he teetered, almost falling down until someone caught him. Hera, he realized, in a dazed sort of way. "Kanan! Kanan!" She yelled in his face, which he thought was unnecessary. Emerald eyes wide with panic, worry, and pain, she guided him down to a kneeling position.

Her shoulder, he remembered. Shaking himself out of his trance, Kanan groaned and sat up, gazing into Hera's relieved emerald eyes. "Are you okay?" She whispered softly, sliding one hand into his, her other arm dangling limply. He forced a small smile, for her sake, not his. "Shouldn't I be asking you that question?" Hera smiled slightly as he squeezed her hand, relieved, then winced in pain as she used one hand to move her arm in a more comfortable position.

"How is it?" Kanan asked her worriedly, reaching toward it before deciding to pull his hand back. Hera grimaced, then hid it fast. "It'll heal." He extended his mind to the force, concentrating on her force signature. It wasn't okay of course, and it wouldn't heal fast. She was in a lot more pain then she was letting on. Kanan winced, pulling away from her force signature and instead concentrating on her wound, healing it with the force. A moment later, he heard her sigh in relief and opened his eyes.

Hera smiled at him, knowing what he had done. Her smile made it all worth it, and he felt himself smile back, feeling his own pain and anger waning. Taking a deep breath he said, "We should go." Hera nodded in agreement, then stopped, shining green eyes calculating. "How?"

Overhead, an Imperial shuttle roared noisily across the sky. Kanan felt a probing in the force, and instantly knew the answer to their problems. "I thing I have an idea...."
