Inspired By: A program thing at school

"Be home by 10:30, alright?" I spoke to my daughter, Kat, as she smiled while holding onto the doorknob.

"I'll should be back by around 10:00. If not than we probably got caught up in traffic. Don't worry, Dad. I'm ready for graduation tomorrow," She whispered with a grin.

Her long black hair was pulled into a fishtail braid that was draped over her shoulder as her blue eyes were lit up with excitement. Her flawless white face that she got from her mother shined purely as her white teeth showed through her upturned lips.

She was going out on the Friday night before graduation. She was going out with her two best friends; Penelope and Harper.

Their parents were really nice people and they were all very good kids, so I wasn't worried about them too much. They were going to movies at around 8:45 at night.

Kat was the Valedictorian of her class, graduating tomorrow evening. I was excited and knew she had been stressing out to get that title, so I needed to give her a breather.

"See you later, Dad! I love you!" She yelped after hearing a honking in the driveway. I gave her a hug before she ran out. Then she was gone.

Cywren works night shifts at a hospital in the surgical area while I work day jobs. With Kat graduating I knew I had to take off tomorrow.

I needed rest, at least for a few hours.

//Two Hours Later\\

I jolted up at the sound of my phone ringing. I answered it, knowing the contacts name as Harper's father.

"Hello?" I asked, not quite knowing why he was calling me at 10:45 at night.

"Timebomb? H-Have the police called you yet?" He asked with slight fear as I stood up.

"What? No? Why would they?" I asked, realizing that she should've been home forty five minutes ago.

"There was an accident out on 51 and they said it looked like Harper's car..." He whispered as I swore under my breath.

"Where would they be taking them?" I asked aggressively.

"The hospital. That's where I'm at," He spoke as I hung up, grabbing my keys and sprinting out the doors.

My little girl is hurt. Probably a few bumps and bruises and possibly a broken limb. She's strong. She'll be alright.

I parked, hopping out of the car to see the place swarmed with hospital employees and police officers. I ran through the doors, looking around and trying to find my precious daughter.

"Name?" A police officer asked as I looked over at him.

"Timebomb Caster..." I muttered.

((Because he never actually had a last name so just roll with it...))

"And who are you here to see?" He asked.

"Kathrine Caster..." I whispered as he slowly looked up at me.

"I'm gonna bet you're her father," He spoke as I nodded.

"Just stand by for a few minutes and wait for us to bring her in..." He spoke as I nodded.

Harper passed by, crying as she had blood pouring down her forehead. Two strangers came in, both drunk off their asses as I realized what had happened.

  Drunk driving accident.

Penelope came in next, she was out cold. She had blood covering her left leg and right shoulder.

  No sign of Kat.

"I'm gonna need to speak with you in private, Sir..." The police officer spoke as I felt my heart shatter, now knowing exactly what happened.

  She could've done so much.

  Gotten married.

  Had a job.

  Had kids.

But all of that was taken away by the drunk driver named Veronica Santangelo.

Drunk Driving Rant:

Okay people! It ain't worth the risk! People are being taken from their families because people are being dumb and irresponsible.

I've heard so many stories, that all resulted in crying, about how parents lives have changed because their kids were killed in drunk driving accidents.

Logan, Autumn, and so many more kids! Even adults!

Just don't take the risk. Because imagine it being your kids next. Your siblings next. Your best friend. Just think how severely your life would change...

  It's not worth the risk...
