-leo; originally called lionello by the vikings, leo adopted the shortened version of his name in order to symbolize the loss the vikings had on him, claiming that they made him less of a dog. leo was tall, far taller than most dogs, but thin, always very thin, some would say too thin and colored black and tan with cedar grey/brown eyes. some would call the great dog's height a freak of nature since he stood nearly 26in (66cm) at the shoulder, and it was true, leo was the only of his litter to get that large as neither one of his parents were ever that tall and his pups hardly passed the average 23in (58cm) range; leo was a hunter, and a damn good one too, his long legs allowed him stand up over the snow, and his lightweight frame allowed for him to move quickly and easily through drifts, after the loss of the vikings, the male was terribly disheartened, but took it upon himself to do more to compensate for their not being there and ended up working himself to death; deceased

~mother~

-kaia; a beautiful solid red female lapponian herder with small white markings surrounding her peanut colored eyes like a small masquerade mask, the edges tilting just up and out so it looks like off-white eyeliner. she was on the tall side for a female lapponian, standing 20in (51cm) but she was also on the thicker side as well, weighing 65lbs (29kg). and while she wasn't particularly quick or abnormally strong the female had the smell of a bloodhound, the eyes of a greyhound, the grace of a saluki and the hearing of a labrador, she had unnaturally good instincts as well, all traits, minus the sight, she passed down to rand; kaia was simply used by the vikings for whatever task needed completing, if they needed an extra hunter, she was there; if they needed an extra guard dog, she was there. after losing the humans, she became a gatherer. but a wedge was driven between her and leo and they eventually split, but leo was working so much he either didn't care or didn't notice. she now lives as an elder with many stories to share and the same get-up-and-go that she had in her youth, always willing to help out and be of use; alive; not in roleplay

-otto; the largest of all the pups, standing at 23in (58cm) and weighing 70lbs (32kg), otto took after his father in personality, a total workaholic, a good listener, athletic beyond belief. the male canine was primarily an off-white color with his back, neck, head and a bit of his face bearing patches of dark red. his own eyes, the color of light gingerbread with a slight grey hue. his own senses weren't as strong, leading him to become a fierce warrior, for his loyalty was strong and his drive to protect more so; losing the vikings didn't help nor harm otto, for while he loved the humans, he'd always been a little short mentally and lacked the ability to completely understand that they were gone forever, he simply knew that they were around and then they weren't, he adjusted to life and continued on; alive; not in roleplay

~sister(s)~

-mikaela; around average size for a female lapponian herder, this female, dark grey/near black in color with a slight bluish tint, hosting both tan and white markings and with eyes of rich mocha color, was an incredible huntress, able to track the most elusive creatures through snowfall, though her senses very much paled in comparison to that of rand's, she still was a force to be reckoned with, she just simply lacked the intution and instincts evident in both kaia and rand. mikaela is swift upon her feet, and her legs are incredibly strong, able to push her through and over snowdrifts all the while in pursuit of quick and agile prey; after the vikings left, mikaela didn't know how to react and resided in a state of numbness, quite unsure about where to go and what to do, but after the split of her parents, she and rand took off, leaving the group. they were hardly a day out when rand turned back and returned to the clan. mikaela didn't think the male could fend for himself, hence her bringing him along. but to rand it didn't feel right to leave, causing a disagreement with mikaela which resulted in him leaving and finding his way back to the clan in a blizzard; missing; not in roleplay
