I grit my teeth as Gavin forced me against the wall. He had a hand on my collar, keeping me in place.

Ever since the deviants had won their independence a few months ago, I'd stayed in the police force with Hank. It was what I loved, yet Gavin disliked the idea. He'd caught me alone, working late.

"What are you gonna do?" He taunted me with a smirk. I looked at him with a furrowed expression. I knew I couldn't do anything due to the sensitive android laws. "What're computing there, Connor? Trying to find some way to fight back without getting in trouble?" Gavin laughed nastily at me.

"I'm sorry, detective. What would appease you?"

"Appease me? Appease me???" He laughed again. "What would appease me is the destruction of you and every other android. You're messing everything up! My entire life has been ruined by you."

I tipped my head, confused. "Me, personally?"

"You took my job!!!" He screamed in my face. "You know, I'd still have a girlfriend if it weren't for you! I might've even had a wife and a family!" I saw tears brimming Gavin's eyes as he gripped my jacket. He pulled his other arm up from his side and balled his hand into a tight fist. I stared into his eyes as he involuntarily shook. His tears spilled over as he finally let me go.

He turned away, growling and swearing at me. He stormed from the station, just as Hank was coming in, presumably to find me. Gavin pushed past Hank, keeping his head down. My LED turned from red to a steady blue as Hank approached me. "What was that all about?"

I hesitated before answering him. "I'm not sure."
