Kaede had just challenged Shuichi to a battle, which even if he wanted to, Shuichi wouldn't be able to disagree to.

It was her Torchic vs his Mudkip. "U-Um, use Tackle?" Shuichi said nervously.

Mudkip did as he said, and attacked the Torchic. Mudkip tapped the other pokemon's side and it instantly fainted. Shuichi and Professor TreeBagels stared blankly at the dead-looking pokemon in front of them, surprised it was beaten so easily.

"Wow, Saihara-Kun! You're strong! Take my allowance money!" Kaede said, sniping him in the head with some money.

"Gee Saihara-Chan! You beat Akamatsu, but can you beat me?" Kokichi grinned maniacally.

"Yeah I've been training my son for a loooooongg time! I've been teaching him all the ways of hope!" Professor TreeBagels said. But everyone ignored him.

Their battle began. "I guess use tackle again?" Shuichi asked his pokemon.

Mudkip did the same thing as before. The Treecko only took 0.00001 damage.

"Wait... What?" Shuichi asked confused.

"Alright, Togami! Use scratch!" Kokichi laughed. The Treecko dramatically ran up to Mudkip and sliced it. He threw off his sunglasses and blew on his steaming claws.

Shuichi's Mudkip took 999999999999999 damage and fainted.

Professor TreeBagels started to laugh like an insane person for ten seconds, "HAHAHA! WHAT DID I TELL YOU? ALL IN THE NAME OF HOP-"

"Nishishi! Nice try Saihara-Chan! I think you owe me Akamatsu-Chan's allowance, now! Since I won." Kokichi laughed.

Kokichi handed the money over to his over powered rival.

"Well, There's one last thing I need to give you before you go on your journey!" Professor TreeBagels said. "It's a machine that I totally made myself, I definitely did not steal it from a professor from somewhere else."

They all headed over to the lab where he gave them the new item. "This is the PokeBagel!" The professor explained. "You can scan any Pokemon you find with this and it'll give you info about them. I shaped it like a bagel, because bagels are the food of hope!"

The three children were confused, but took the device anyway.

"Oh and you'll need these if you wanna catch any Pokemon!" He said. "Take these balls!" He threw the Pokeballs at their faces.

"By now! Come report to me if you catch any Pokemon! I know you probably won't do that, though because people don't care enough to do so!" Professor TreeBagels said, pushing them out of his lab.

The three of them stood at the entrance of route 2134578990. "Well I'll see you two some other time!" Kokichi said running off.

"Wait, we aren't sticking together?" Kaede asked.

"No duh! Don't you know, the two of us are just really annoying people who bother Saihara-Chan everytime something important happens! And then we become semi important to the plot t words the end!" Kokichi said.

Kaede and Shuichi just looked at him strangely as he ran off.

"Well, I guess I'll see ya around! Be sure to battle me next time, I swear I won't lose!" Kaede said, running away too.

Shuichi didn't know what do, so he just advanced down route 2134578990.

As he was walking, he noticed this one child staring at him. He gave him a fierce look. Shuichi was weirded out, so he tried to walk past him. As soon as he walked in front of the child though, he said, "WHEN TWO TRAINERS CROSS PATHS, THEY MUST BATTLE! SO BATTLE ME!"

Shuichi jumped in shock. "B-battle you? Why would I have to do that?" Shuichi asked nervously.

"BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CHOICE!" He yelled. "ZIGZAGOON, GO!"

Shuichi quickly defeated the annoying brat and won some money.
