"That's what a three story fall from the deck?" Pope asks John B who was drinking a beer as he stood on the edge of the roof of a building being remodeled in Figure Eight. "I give you about a one in three chance of survival."

John B going along with Pope's remarks, checks the wind by licking his finger. "Hm. Should I do it?" He asks almost taunting Quinn who was standing next to Pope.

"Yeah you should jump." Pope states earning a smack on the back of the head by the girl. Pope winced for a second, his hands going to the back of his head before he looked back up to John B. "I'll shoot you on the way down." He continued, referring to the drill he was holding.

"You'll shoot me?" The slightly tipsy John B asks almost daringly. "Yep." Quinn sang, deciding to join in on the joke.

John B glared at her, lifting his arm up in a finger gun position and pretended to pull the trigger. Quinn ducked just before the imaginary bullet could hit her.

A numerous amount of "Pews" and "Pows" went around Quinn and John B as they did finger guns to each other. Quinn, acting as if she had been shot, put all her weight on Pope, causing him to almost fall over before he caught her waist and quickly stood her back up.

"They're gonna have Japanese toilets with towel warmers." Kie groaned as she walked out of the building. Quinn scoffed at Kie's words as JJ sighed.

"Of course. Why wouldn't they?" JJ asked and Quinn ignored him, knowing he was trying trying to piss the two of them off. "You know, this used to be a turtle habitat, but who cares about the turtles, I guess." Quinn muttered, crossing her arms.

"I can't have cold towels." JJ groaned and Quinn turned to look at him as Kie looked up to John B on the edge of the roof. "Can you please not kill yourself?" Kie asked John B as Quinn squinted her eyes at JJ. "Can you shut the hell up?"

JJ gave Quinn a cheeky smile, glad he could piss her off before looking to John B. "Don't spill that beer. I'm not giving you another one."

As if on cue, John B lost his balance and dropped his beer. "Whoa! Oh, shit." John B groaned as JJ scoffed. "Of course you did, like right when I told you."

"Hey!" Quinn could faintly hear, making her look towards the streets of the building, smirking at the guards coming towards them.

Pope came up beside her, wanting to see what she was looking at and immediately turned to the group. "Hey, uh, security's here." Quinn nodded along, jogging to Kie. "Yeah, let's wrap it up. The boys are early today."

"Humpty Dumpty, let's roll." JJ screamed as he hopped off the lifter he was on. Kie turned to Quinn, the blonde girl immediately smirking at her, linking their arms. The two girls turned to the boys and smiled. "Let's go, boys." They said in sync.

"Gary, is that you? Gary, good to see you, man!" JJ screamed, making Kie laugh, shaking her head. "You're asking for it."

The five quickly ran into the building, running down the stairs where more security was, making the five scatter.

"Get 'em! They're comin' your way!" Quinn could hear Gary scream and just as she was about to turn the corner to leave the building, a guard came in her way.

Quinn let out a yelp as she quickly got down onto the ground, sliding through the mans legs. She quickly got up, laughing as the man screamed for her to stop.

When she finally got outside, JJ was running beside her with Pope a few feet ahead of them.

Pope quickly hopped over the fence as JJ grabbed Quinn's waist, throwing her over the fence. "Come on, short stack!"

Quinn screamed and Pope quickly caught her before she hit the ground. Quinn sent Pope a small smile, playfully slapping his face. "Thanks." Pope gave her a soft smile, nodding his head as JJ hopped the fence. "Come on! Fatso's coming."

Quinn quickly grabbed Pope's hand, pulling him with her to the van John B and Kie were already in.

"Hey! Come here, you little pricks!" Gary screamed as John B honked. "Bus is leaving!"

JJ was the first to dive into the van. Kie reached her arm out, grabbing Quinn's hand to pull her and Pope in faster.

When John B started driving, Quinn sat criss cross beside Kie, peaking her head out the sliding door and immediately started laughing at Gary running after them.

"Check out Gary, gunnin' for a raise." Pope laughed out as Quinn leaned halfway out of the van, dramatically reaching her hand out to the man. "Come on, Gary! Take my hand!"

Pope grabbed her shoulder, pulling her back so she didn't fall out of the van as JJ took her spot. "Wait. Slow down." JJ screamed as he leaned out of the van trying to give the man his beer.

"You're gonna give him a heart attack." Kie groaned as Quinn crawled to the passenger seat, kicking her feet up on the dashboard, watching JJ taunt Gary through the mirror.

"You're so close! You can do it." JJ screamed before throwing the man his beer. "There you go. They don't pay you enough, bro."

"JJ, stop. Stop." Kie said, trying to hold back a chuckle as she pulled him into the van, closing the door as the four other people in the car continued to laugh. "Oh, come on. That sort of initiative is just begging to be punished."

Just before John B left Figure Eight, Quinn tapped his shoulder, pointing at the street she lived on. John B pouted, turning down the street nonetheless. "Mama wants you home?" John B said in a baby voice and Quinn sighed, resting her head on the window. "No, Pops does. He doesn't want me out with the hurricane." John B hummed as he pulled up to the house.

JJ grabbed Quinn's shoulder just before she got out of the van. "Hey, short stack... Tell your folks their dream child says he miss them." Quinn rolled her eyes, pushing him away and turning her head to look back to Kie and Pope. "Bye!" Quinn sang, Kie yelling a goodbye as Pope waved her goodbye.

...

Quinn had fallen asleep on her couch, watching Halloween movies despite the fact of it being summer.

Quinn made it a tradition, every night there's a storm, she'd watch horror movies to fit the loud thunder and lightning mood.

Her doorbell ringing the next morning had woken her up from her slumber. Quinn groaned, hiding her face into the cushions. Quinn's father, Henry Robbins, came down the stairs tiredly. He stopped at the couch, looking at his daughter before grabbing a pillow on the other end of the couch and playfully hitting her head.

Quinn groaned more as the doorbell rang louder. "What the hell?" Quinn groaned, looking up to her father who just smiled. "Wake up, Pumpkin. Someone's at the door."

Quinn sighed, tiredly getting up and walking to the door as her father walked towards the kitchen. Quinn opened the door and was met with an out of breath Sarah Cameron, holding two tennis rackets.

Sarah let out a relieved sigh at Quinn. "Oh, Thank God. Quinn, you gotta help me. The burrows filled with water from the surge. The birds are having a field day with the mice. Quinn... it's a mouse genocide out there." Sarah said out of breath, handing her a tennis racket.

Quinn sighed, taking the racket out of the girls hand and looking into her house. "Mom! Dad! I'm gonna go be a hero to a bunch of mice!" Quinn screamed and she could faintly hear her father yell an 'okay' from the kitchen.

...

After spending almost twenty minutes with Sarah trying to save mice from the birds, Quinn looked down at her watch, her jaw dropping at the time. "Shit! Sarah, I gotta go!" Quinn screamed, throwing Sarah her tennis racket and running to her dock where the Pogues were already waiting.

"I'm sorry I'm late! It's like an all you can eat buffet for the birds out there. It's practically mouse genocide." Quinn rambled, copying Sarah's words that she had said to her as she ran down her dock. Pope put his hand out to help her onto the boat and she quickly got in. "How was your movie night?" Pope asked and Quinn smiled, sitting next to Kie as JJ handed her his joint. "Oh, great! I got up to Halloween 4."

Pope smiled, nodding his head as he continued driving the boat and JJ stood up, tightening the beer in his grip "Hey, Pope. Can you go a little faster?" JJ called out, making John B and Quinn sigh, moving to the seats behind Pope. "Here we go. We're movin'." John B groaned

"He's tried this like 6,000 times." Quinn mumbled to John B who chuckled as JJ stood on the edge of the boat. "I got this. It's gonna work!"

JJ stuck his hand out and tilted the bottle of beer, trying to make the beer into his mouth. Kie groaned, moving her hair behind her shoulders. "You're getting beer in my hair!"

"Oh, my God." John B groaned, throwing his head back as Quinn brought a hand down her face. "All right, you're done. All right, JJ!"

The boat suddenly stopped, making everyone fly out of their seats, JJ flying out of the boat. Quinn groaned, looking up at Pope who was rubbing his head. "Jesus fuck, Pope!"

JJ rose up from the water, groaning. "You okay, JJ?" John B asked as JJ continued to groan. I think my heels touched the back of my head. Pope, what did you do?"

"Sandbar. The channel changed." Pope said as Quinn walked to the edge to help JJ back into the boat.

"No shit." JJ scoffed as John B groaned. "Ugh, this is probably gonna mess this whole place up."

"Hey, I saved the beer, though." JJ said as Quinn stuck her arm out but before she could grab his hand, Pope let out a shocked gasp. "Guys... I think there's a boat down there."

"Shut up. What?" John B said as Quinn turned to look where Pope pointed at immediately could see the faint outline of a boat. "No, no, guys. He's serious. There's a boat down there." Quinn breathed out and Pope nodded. "It's a boat!"

Kie ran to stand beside Quinn, her eyes going wide when her eyes landed on the boat as well. "Holy shit, they're right. Let's go."

Quinn rolled her eyes, turning to Pope. "She said we're right like it's some fucking shock. We're the smartest ones in the group." Pope nodded, giving her a little fist bump as everyone else jumped into the water.

"Shit!" Quinn yelled, quickly unbuttoning her shorts and taking off her flannel shirt, jumping into the water. "You think there's a dead body down there?" JJ asked her once her head came back up above water. Quinn smirked, tilting her head. "Wanna bet?" "Guys, wait up!" Pope screamed, taking off his shirt and jumping into the water.

The five quickly swam down to the boat. Quinn's eyes widened as she looked at the boat before looking back up, locking eyes with Kie and swimming back up to the surface for air.

"You guys saw that?" JJ cheered and everyone laughed as they swam towards the boat. "That's a Grady-White. A new one of those is like 500 Gs, easy." JJ breathed out in shock as Quinn pushed herself onto the boat.

"That's a primo rig." Pope groaned and John B nodded. Yeah. That's the boat I saw when I surfed the surge. Maybe it hit the jetty or something."

"You surfed the surge?" Quinn asked before noticing Pope was trying not to make eye contact wit her, making her jaw drop. "You did too?"

JJ chuckled, patting their backs. "Yeah. My boys! Pogue style."

"Wait, wait. Do we know whose boat that is?" Quinn asked and John B chuckled, shaking his head as he walked to the back of the boat. "No, but we're about to find out."

"Dude, it's too deep." JJ said, making John B sigh as he grabbed the anchor. "Oh, for the weak and feeble, JJ."

JJ scoffed once he realized what John B was planning to do. "Well, I'm not resuscitating you. I'm just making that clear up front." Quinn nodded her head as she crossed her arms. "Yeah... I'm not giving you mouth to mouth"

John B chuckled, standing up. "That's fine."

"Diver down, fool." Pope said as he and Quinn saluted John B. "Diver down." John B muttered as JJ laughed, pushing him into the water. "Yeah, he is."

Quinn squinted at JJ, whacking the back of his head, making Pope and Kie chuckle. "Dumbass."

"Should we go get him?" Pope asked and John B almost instantly came up from above the water.

"Any dead bodies?" JJ asked as Quinn helped John B into the boat. "Looting potential?" Pope asked and John B shook his head. "No. No. I found this motel key."

Quinn looked up at him with a 'really?' expression. "A fucking key?" John B turned to her, nodding his head over exagerratingly. "Yes, Quinn... a fucking key."

"Great! We salvaged a motel key." JJ muttered. Kie sighed, looking back to the group to Quinn who was watching Pope steer the boat, not knowing how to drive one herself.

"Guys, we should report the wreck to the coast guard. Maybe we'll get a finder's fee." JJ scoffed at Kie, shaking his head. Yeah, and not work all summer. Thanks, Agatha, ya batch."

...

"Well, that went well." Pope mumbled, noticing John B and JJs annoyed expressions as they walked out of the notifications building.

"So, what's the plan?" Quinn asked, bouncing back and fourth on her feet. "I know how we're gonna find the guy who owns that boat." John B said, looking down at the key.

Pope immediately started shaking his head. "We don't know whose room that is. It could be anyone."

"I'm in." JJ said, taking the keys out of John B's hands and throwing them to Kie. "Come on. I'll be lookout." Kie sang.

"Finder's fee. Just sayin'. And, hey, at least you'll only be an accomplice." John B explained, patting his shoulder before he, Kie and JJ walked towards the boat.

Pope sighed, turning to Quinn. "Aren't you worried about this?" Pope asked and Quinn immediately nodded, grabbing his arm and pulling him down the dock. "Of course I am. But there's no adventure in life with out a little fear."

Pope scrunched his face and Quinn's words. "You read that off a fortune cookie, didn't you?" Quinn chuckled, wrapping a hand around his shoulders even though she was much shorter than him. "Sure did. Now, come on, bubba."
