Before I start, thank you sincerely for all the people who have supported this book and/or been here since the beginning. It took several months for this book to even get one request and I remember how happy I was to get it. Ever since then, this really has taken off and I can't thank you all enough for that.

Thank you to all the friends I have made through this app, you got me through hard times and always made me laugh. That's a debt I will never be able to repay so thank you.

I sadly can't say I can continue this anymore. After this my book and my account will officially be closed. I'll check back in to read comments but my real life has gotten busy and school takes up 100% of my time and I know I wouldn't be able to give my all to this book. If you have the time, please take a look at my other works. Thank you and enjoy!

{You looked up, startled to see tears in his eyes.

"I can't..I can't lose you too...."}

It hadn't gotten easier, seeing people die. You watched as Peko disappeared in the swarming mass of enemies, blood spattering the floor and the area around her. You held tears back, trying not to lose control. Even though it was the second time the trial had taken place, it wasn't any easier to witness an execution.

"Fuyuhiko." Someone whispered. You didn't look around to see who said it. Your eyes were glued to the sight before you.

You all filed out, going back to your places. Your cottage was next to Fuyuhiko's, so you often heard him talking to Peko or just listened to him snore through the walls and tried not to laugh at the obnoxious noises.

The event happened a day ago, and you were relieved to hear Fuyuhiko was well. After all, his eye was...
You shook off the thought, the whole day you thought about him and what he was going through.

Your hand instinctively raised to knock on the door, but you knew you shouldn't. It was inappropriate timing and all he wanted to do was be alone. You realized that and headed to your cottage.

You turned around and almost gasped when you heard sobbing. It was Fuyuhiko's sobbing. You went back to the door and slumped by it. You shrieked as the door opened as you fell into the room. Apparently the door had accidentally been open because Fuyuhiko stared at you with shock.

"What..What the hell are you doing here?"

You expected him to be more angry, but even though his words were rude, his voice was meek and terribly strained.

"I-I'm sorry. I heard you sobbing and I fell through the door and.."

"Whatever. Doesn't matter." He turned away, wiping his tears from his red face.

"Are..you alright?"

"Does it look like I'm alright?" He snapped back, voice sounding more cruel.

"I'm..sorry. That was a stupid question." You sighed, raising yourself off the floor to leave.

"Well you've always been a stupid idiot." He chuckled.

You didn't know how to respond. Be mad at him for being rude or be happy because he let out that angelic laugh of his.

Angelic? What's with me? Did I think of his laugh as angelic before?

You shook those thoughts out of your mind.

"Whoah hey. Stupid idiot? Isn't that going a bit too far?"

"Well..you haven't been particularly smart, idiot." His tears seemed to dry and he smirked at you with that cocky smile of his.

"I-"

"Don't take it to heart idiot. Out of all the people here, you're the only one I don't hate."

"Wait what about-" You stopped, realizing the one person he liked was dead.

His face turned pale.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-"

He got up from his bed and you half expected him to hit you.

But what he did next shocked you.

He wrapped his arms around you, holding you in his tight embrace.

"Huh-Fuyuhiko what-" You didn't expect him to be like this. You thought he would curse you out and shove you out of his room to be alone.

Though I guess I don't know him that well.

"Just shut up and let me hug you. I need someone right now." His voice was soft, shaky, and...

Desperate...

You hugged him back, turning red from his embrace. But you secretly enjoyed it, and him.

"I..I just didn't realize that this would happen." He sobbed. "She was the only thing I had left close to actual family. Someone who cared for me. She risked her life for someone like me."

"Fuyuhiko...she did it because you were important to her."

"I'm not important. I'm a lowlife rude scumbag who doesn't deserve anyone."

"What? That's the least bit true. If people get to know you, I'm sure they would think of you highly Fuyuhiko. At least I do..."

Fuyuhiko stayed silent, laying in your arms.

He whispered something which was a bit inaudible to hear, but you caught a few words.

"how can you say that..I'm so rude to you."

You hugged for what seemed like an eternity, before he let you go.

"I-I'm sorry. You probably want to go sleep. It's been a long few days." He sighed, giving you a weak smile.

"It has." You sighed. "I..I'll see you tomorrow.

You closed his door.

...thank you door. Wait. Why am I thanking a door?!

You sighed. You did really need sleep. It had been a long day and you needed to rest.

\\FLASHBACK//

"Hey watch were you're going!" A voice snapped at you as you felt yourself collide with the angry voice.

"I-I'm so sorry! Do you you know where we are because I'm very confused." You looked down as your rubbed your head.

Is he a midget? No..just small..my head hurts..am I spinning?

"Look idiot, I don't know where we are either. But just so you know I'm a Yakuza, so you better not mess with me." He sighed as you were still lopsided and held on to your shoulders so you could regain balance. "Do you hear me? Geez come on get a grip!"

"Young master. She's no threat. Leave her alone." A voice from behind him sighed. "I'm sorry for his behavior. My name is Peko Pekoyama and this is my young master Fuyuhiko."

You both shook hands briefly but with respect.

She was tall. Much taller than the man who bumped into you. Silver hair and piercing eyes. You were a bit more intimidated of her than the midg-small guy.

I'm still not thinking straight apparently.

"No problem. I am still sorry I bumped into him." You bowed to the two.

"It's alright." He muttered irritably.

What's with this guy..yeesh.

A smile graced your lips. You didn't know why, but something about him humored you. Not particularly his height, but you were feeling some sort of happiness towards this guy. He had such a cute pouty face...

You talked to him, always with Peko by his side to calm him down if you ever angered him. He was short-tempered, if you even looked at him too long he got irritated. You didn't know why he was like that around you, but you never asked.

"Hey! What are you getting all teary eyed for?" Fuyuhiko leaned next to you as you sat alone.

"What? Oh nothing." You mumbled, hastily wiping away your tears.

"If it's because of the game, then don't worry. I have a feeling you'll survive." He whispered.

"What?"

"Nothing. No one's gonna give you a hard time but me you got that?" He gave a big grin and slapped you on the back.

//END OF FLASHBACK\\

The next morning, you instantly thought of the night before, blinking your eyes drowsily.

"Oh." You blushed, stuffing your head into a pillow. You let out a muffled scream and sighed. You remembered the incident last night and your cheeks flushed.

You got out of your bed, messing with your hair and straightening out your clothes. I wish I could change my clothes, but I don't really trust those Monokuma onesies in the storage. Plus I don't really want to wear the thing who is pulling the strings of this game.

A lot of people were eating in the restaurant. They stuffed their faces with colorful assortments of foods and exotic fruits. At least they could eat comfortably here though at the same time thinking and judging the others. Who would kill and who to trust, if anyone was trustworthy.

Trustworthy. You instantly thought of Fuyuhiko. He could've killed you that night, he was part of the stunt with Peko after all...

Hopefully he thinks well of me..

You soon drifted off to thinking about him, his hair, his smile, everything. Your faint smile soon drifted away thinking of the reality of the situation.

Maybe in a different life...

Suddenly, everyone looked towards the entrance. Fuyuhiko stood there and he looked at everyone intensely.

You heard him talk about how he wanted to get to know everyone.

What a positive mood change!

Hiyoko looked anything but pleased. "Do you think a half-a**sed apology will make us forget what you've done?!"

Fuyuhiko's smile faded, and he slumped to the floor in forgiveness. You wanted to slap Hiyoko, even though she wasn't completely wrong. But the way she was talking to him made you want to protect Fuyuhiko, even though you didn't know why.

But suddenly, he did the unthinkable. Blood trickled from his body, showing that he had cut his stomach.

You stood there, shocked at what he had done. He had slit his stomach so brazenly. It reminded you of how weak he was last night, but how happy he seemed when he called you stupid.

I...I guess I didn't really help did I? Maybe I didn't comfort him as much as I thought. Of course I didn't...I am just another player in this game to him. My words don't mean too much. He is still blaming himself.

You talked the others the rest of the day, trying to take off your mind of Fuyuhiko.

Somehow...you ended up at Ibuki's concert at the end of the day.

How they heck was I convinced to go to this thing? Huh...

Your eyes met with Fuyuhiko's for just a second before you glanced away. When you stole a glance again, he had a slight saddened expression.

You sighed, almost clutching your heart.

You felt a tap on your shoulder. "Y/N? Could I talk to y-"

Before he could speak, Ibuki yelled some words and began playing at a earsplitting volume. The vibrations shook the walls and you even saw some people slip a little. Fuyuhiko gasped as headed towards the ground.

You grabbed his arm reflexively, pulling him to you. You blushed hard when you realized you were basically embracing him in the middle of all the students. You jumped away, making sure no one saw. But everyone was too busy covering their ears and trying not to get blown away.

Fuyuhiko looked at you, blushing just as hard as you were. You were a bit surprised, surely that meant nothing to him? Right?

He stood up and held onto your shoulders. Your lips inches apart. You knew he was just holding onto you to regain balance, but why did your heart go a million miles an hour?

You both looked at each other and laughed at Ibuki's music while you held each other. You saw her give you a thumbs up like she knew about you two. You looked away and hoped Fuyuhiko didn't notice.

He did.

When the music ended, he whispered into your ear. "I need to talk to you. Come to my room tonight." He gave you a faint smile, walking away from you.

"What..do you need?" You asked him, rubbing your eyes. It had been a long day.

"I wanted to apologize. For the other day." Fuyuhiko stood up at your presence. "I...overstepped my boundaries. I put all my emotions on your shoulders and I didn't think about you." His facial features scrunched up, obviously guilty.

"What? Fuyuhiko. I..I didn't mind it. Sure, it was a bit out of the blue but I knew you were hurting and wanting to help." You reassured him.

"You mean that?" He looked up in shock.

"Of course! I never want to see you so unhappy Fuyu.."

"Fuyu...?" His eyes shimmered in the dim light.

"Oh. Sorry, is that nickname too weird?"

"No...I like it coming from you."

"Is..your apology all you wanted to say?" You said after a moment of silence.

"One more thing." He sighed. "I want to thank you. Your comfort was what I needed that day. You mean so much to me. I know we haven't talked too much, but the conversations we had before all this..happened, were lovely. I have always enjoyed your company. You are really like Peko you know-"

He stopped, seeing your eyes grow wide.

"So I'm just Peko to you?" You grimaced, instantly feeling like your heart was being squeezed.

"What? No! Y/N!"

"I'm not Peko...I don't want to be a second choice for you.." You tried to run off, tears already streaming down your face.

He grabbed your arm forcefully, slamming you to the wall. He pinned you there, as you couldn't move a single inch.

"Listen to me!" Fuyuhiko almost yelled.

You settled down, breathing heavily.

"That was dumb of me. To compare you to Peko, I'm sorry. You are nothing like her."

You huffed.

"I'm serious. In all my life, Peko was my protector. A guardian. Someone who was family and always looked out for me. But I never saw her as someone I loved. Sure, I loved her platonically and she was important..but I never had romantic feelings for her...for anyone really." His cheeks grew slightly red.

You widened your eyes, but you kept on listening.

"When I first saw you..Y/N...I was instantly attracted to you. I don't believe in love at first sight and all that crap but...I did feel there was a connection. I didn't know what, and at first I thought you were just suspicious. But when I talked to you, I realized that my assumptions were wrong. You were dumb, clumsy, and sometimes you weren't the brightest.."

"Wow thanks."

"But you were adorable." He blushed and moved forward in his speech. "I couldn't help but fall in love with your quirky behavior. Which is totally opposite of what Peko was. I know that the way I feel for you is different than her...because Y/N...

I have a crush on you."

You didn't know how to feel, one moment he was insulting you and the other he called you adorable.

So bipolar.........but..I have to admit that it makes me happy

"I know I haven't made you the happiest, I insult you a lot and I haven't tried to do anything for you but...I want you to accept my feelings, please. I know you may think I'm trying to find a replacement for Peko but that's so far from the truth. I want to make friends with everyone, open up and most importantly,"

He looked at you in your beautiful eyes.

"Make you happy."

"I don't know Fuyuhiko. I don't know if I can-" you started to speak.

"Please Y/N. I have so many feelings for you, more than anyone else. At least come to terms to my feelings...please." He pleaded.

"I don't know if I'm ready Fuyuhiko. I'm afraid I'll let you down." You started crying, realizing that you had these feelings too, more intense than you realized.

"You could never do that..I never want to let you go Y/N. I could never handle it if you left this world. So please..."

You looked up, startled to see tears in his eyes.

"I can't..I can't lose you too...."

You embraced him, basically tackling him to the ground. Feelings and thoughts rushed through your body. You realized you cared about him more than anyone. More than you realized before.

"I love you Fuyu!"

"Y/N...I love you too...weirdo." He laughed at his own insult, a bit taken aback at your sudden embrace.

You were embarrassed as heck but still managed to laugh with him.

"Takes one to know one." You stuck out your tongue briefly.

You were cut short as his lips pressed to yours, pulling you into a passionate kiss. One that you would remember for an eternity.

You felt his warmth, his protection, and his love soak into your skin. You never wanted anything more in that moment. You just needed him.

"I love you so much. I don't know what I would do without you Y/N.." He broke off the kiss, pushing back your hair and looking into your beautiful eyes that were brimming with tears.

"I promise that you will survive this game. You and me."

He kept that promise.

Just as he said he would.

But outside of the game was a precarious situation in the real world, and maybe it wouldn't be the perfect fairytale ending but all that mattered is that you both knew you would be able to handle it, together.
