(Noah's POV)

Clenching the steering wheel until my knuckles turn white, I glance at Amara in the passenger seat, sitting silently.

"Amara, please you have to understand-."

"Understand?" She snaps while glaring at me. Holding up her wrist, she shows me her bound hands. "You lied to me, used me and now you're kidnapping me."

Before I can cut her off, she continues. "I don't know who you are, I can't trust. And who is that Raven, or Mel lady?"

Regretting every decision I've been made, I use one hand to rub my forehead. "We use to work together."

"We're you any closer than that?"

A tiny shred of happiness finds it's way to me when I pick up on the small amount of jealousy coming from her.

"We were friends."

"Any closer than that?"

"No, she's not my type." I try to joke because at the time when I worked with Mel, I was still into big chested, curvy blondes.

Pondering for a minute, she bites her lip and looks out the window.

"Who are you and what are you?" She looks to me, then at Matt in the back. "And you." She turns quickly with an angry look. "Who are you really?"

"Matt." He answers quickly.

"So you're not even a real Brandon?" Amara's brow cocks as she stares at Matt.

"Sadly no."

"Who are you people?" She looks to me for answers.

I can't look her in the eye right now, I feel too guilty. "Amara we work with the CIA, we were sent to find something important."

"My family crest?" She whispers with a gasp.

"It's holding something very important in it, someone you know is trying to take down the CIA agency I work for."

"You're a spy?"

"We're assiassans too." Matt chimes in.

Huffing, I roll my head back and shoot him a glare. "Really?" I snap.

Bracing myself for whatever may come next, I turn around and keep my eyes back on the road.

"What exactly was your mission?" The question I hoped she wouldn't ask, she asked.

"Amara, I don't thin-."

"What. Was. Your. Mission?"

Closing my eyes for a second, I take a deep breath. "To get close to you so I could take your family crest, it's holding a flashdrive."

"So, nothing about us is real?" Her voice slightly cracks.

"That's not at all true Amara, I'm risking my own life right now to be with you."

"Only after you already put me in danger." She yells. "I don't trust you, I want out of the car." She hisses.

"Amara, I'm not stopping the car." Looking over for a second, I watch as she undoes her seatbelt with her bound wrist.

"Fine." Almost instantly, she throws the belt off her shoulder and opens the car door.

"Amara!" Matt and I yell loudly.

Reaching out, I catch her by her shirt before her face hits the ground. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" I yell while pulling her back in.

Behind her, Matt reaches over her and shuts the car door. Quickly, I turn the child safety on and release her shirt.

"Don't ever do something dumb like that again." I growl as the feeling in my stomach dies down.

"Then stop the car." She demands.

Glaring at the beautiful brunette beside me, I pull into a random parking lot. "You want out, then get out." I park the car and unlock her door. "Go on, get out."

"Noah." Matt hisses at me. "You can't do that, they'll find her and kill her."

"Once she gets out of the car, it's not my problem." My eyes never leave hers. "If you want to get out, then get the fuck out." Leaning closer, I clench my jaw as I force the harsh words out of my mouth.

Pulling out the tracker, I can see my boss hasn't left the building yet. Or at least her vehicle hasn't. The click of the door has me looking back up from the device.

"What are you doing?" I ask the woman leaving my car.

"I'm leaving. You said I could go." She pushes the door closed with both her hands and starts walking off.

"You're just going to let her go?"

Before I can answer Matt, I'm already out the car, chasing down Amara.

"Amara please get back in the car, we don't have time to stop. Our plane leaves early tomorrow."

"I don't want to go anywhere with you. Noah."

Hearing the hatred in her voice when she says name, breaks my heart. I'm doing all of this to save her, it's not my fault I was assigned a mission. It's not my fault she had to be different and make me fall for her.

Running up behind her, I scoop her up from her feet and throw her over my shoulder.

"Put me down." She used her tied up wrist to pound on my back.

"I'll put you down when you learn to shut up." I huff as she starts kicking her legs. Using one hand, I grab on to the back of one her thighs, stopping her from kicking me.

"I just want to go home." She whimpers.

"Home isn't safe right now."

*************

Throwing the small woman on the hotel mattress, I sit beside her.

"You couldn't of gotten two beds?" She glares at me.

"You've had no trouble laying next to me before." I say as I stare at the wall.

"I didn't know you killed people and were sent to ruin my life before. Now I do."

"My mission was to retrieve the flashdrive and kill you and your family." I speak calmly. "This is the first mission I've done, that I didn't finish. Instead of doing what I'm suppose to, I'm trying to save your ass. So maybe just a little bit of appreciation would be nice." By the end of my rant, I was foaming at the mouth.

I suppose since Abel doesn't exist anymore, I don't have to keep using his personality. I can be the dick that I am, doesn't mean my feelings for her are any different.

"They would of just sent someone else and that person would of killed you either way."

"You lie to me Abe-, Noah." She catches herself.

"If you still want to call me Abel, you can."

Looking away she shakes her head. "No, I fell for Abel and he was a lie."

Turning away, I shake my head and leave the room to find the bar.
