Sunny Christensen — The Marsh Girl
"I've always been fine alone, why did you have to drag me out here?"

THE CHRISTENSEN FAMILY LIVED ON A SMALL MARSH island, right off of Kildaire. It was three generations (including Sunny's) who dwelled there, seen as wild, odd, and as close to cavemen as you can still get in this day and age. Nobody attempted to understand them, especially not little Sunny who was wild, and more carefree than most.

It was Sunny's father who left the marsh first, tired of having to provide so much for a family who didn't appreciate it. Her older brother left next, off to college, or some type of schooling, he never gave much of an explanation to anyone. Then, her older sister, who fell in love with a scientist studying the marsh, and ran off with him soon after.

From the time she was twelve, till the time she was fourteen, it was just Sunny, and her mother. The older Christensen always went out every weekend after her husband left, and one weekend she just never returned. Sunny yearned for her mother to come back, and didn't know if she preferred the woman just left like everyone else, or something bad happened.

Two years later, she's still not sure of much that happened to her mom. When she went in town for help, they simply tried to put her into the system, which Sunny happily evaded. About a month after mama went missing, Sunny was forced to run from the Sheriff, and came across a small shack.

That's the day she met John B Routledge, and he helped her by letting her stay a few days in his secret hideout. They fell in love then, or at least that is what Sunny believed love to be. Mama and Papa never really showed each other kindness so, all she had was examples in the few fairytale books her older sister had procured many years ago.

John B would warn Sunny whenever the cops were going to go down to the Marsh looking for her. He showed her that the real world wasn't so bad, and she showed him how beautiful the nature she lived in was. That is, until one day he stopped coming down to see her all together.

Two months later, Sunny is in town hoping to do some trading with Heyward. On her way home though, she spots John B, with another girl, one that she was admittedly jealous of. Coincidentally, she has a boyfriend of her own.

... which leader to Topper Thornton's proposition of a fake relationship.

• Sunny's actual name is Sunny, it's not a nickname but everyone will think it is

• Topper and Sunny have met before but haven't seen each other in a long time.

• Her sister Clementine is played by Alisha Boe, for sake of memories and such when you are picturing her, I am having a harder time picking face claims for her brother, mama, and papa
