I light a match

And hold it above the letters.

I let it fall and watch

As the fire burns blue

And consumes my love.

I watch it destroy my hope.

I shed my heart's tears

And feed the flames my desires.

The fire leaps higher

And I silently plead

Let no trace be left of love

Besides a pile of black ashes

That can be swept away.

I light a match

And hold it above my dreams.

Then I let it fall

And burn my breath away.
