Death was unexpected, that was what saddened most people for their loved ones. Although it was unrevealed, it was a beautiful tragedy. Death was inevitable for Dr. Alana, as far as I knew, the emergency crew told us that the cause of the accident was suicide. They found her late, the researchers at the hospital told us that she killed herself two days before.

I laughed at that. I didn't believe that Dr. Alana killed herself because she was an optimistic and a calm lady. Levy seemed emotionally involved for the death of Dr. Alana because she helped him when he used to get horrid flashbacks that was initiated at the age of fifteen until he was sixteen.

Hugging Levy to share his sadness, I had total certainty that she didn't kill herself but it was not the time to investigate since Levy was destroyed at the loss of his doctor.

The baddest part was that I had possibilities to whom killed her, a gut feeling told me that it was my aunt because she spied on us and knew my surroundings, she could have visited this place to know more about me.

That and my hallucinations would be even more volatile. My day just couldn't get any better.

Levy's face turned yellowish when he scanned her office after we pulled away from the comforting hug and it was hard to watch the bad boy, who was the toughest in my opinion, break down like that. I could tell by his red-rimmed eyes that he was about to cry.

I hugged him from behind to ease his worries but he stiffened and I pulled away only to see that his eyes stared at the shiny item beside her desk.

A gun with a letter.

He didn't hesitate to bend down and take the letter. His eyes furiously ran over the words and let an inhuman growl at the words that upset him.

"W-What does it say?" I questioned, afraid of the answer when he gave me the letter with a furious glare cast at the letter.

I took it with shaky hands.

Dear Lia and Levy,

By the time you read this, Levy's men will kill me but there are others who would suffer the consequences of my death and one of them is you. I thought you are both better in sketching up plans to kill me, but I am sure there are others out for you to avenge me. I will be waiting for you in hell. Enjoy your victory, it won't last long.

Be aware, all is fair in love and war.

Meredith Maxwell.

I gasped with trembling lips and an overdosed heart. I had too many emotions going at once that I found it hard to breathe.

My gut feeling was right, it was my aunt who did this. I knew it from the very start because she was the one who shot me.

But how did she kill Dr. Alana?

I contemplated until my eyes broadened at Levy. This was a sick, twisted trick made up by my aunt. My detective senses confirmed what she did and what was her plan.

Levy saw my panicked face and strode to capture both sides of my shoulders.

"Levy, my aunt is alive," I exclaimed with worried eyes and he confirmed it when his face showed shock as well.

"No, that can't be," he quickly recovered but when his eyes looked into mine, he seemed hesitant, "I sent a man to kill her-" his eyes widened like mine and he ruffled his hair like he always did when something was wrong.

"The man obviously betrayed you," I retorted, "you should have gone with him," I scolded and he threw me an annoyed glance when he scanned the gun.

"This is a setup, we need to get out of here now," I rushed my words, not knowing what my aunt's next move was.

"She's out there somewhere, but I will find her and kill her myself," Levy threatened once he bashed the table with his hands and paced the room when his fingers furiously typed a number while the other one held the gun again after he left it on the table.

"The police is on the way, Levy, let's go before they catch us," I suggested alarmingly. He waited for the other side of the line to pick up but he gave up trying to phone the guy again, knowing that most of his men were cowards.

I held his hand wanting to drag him away from the scene but he budged and I glowered at him for defying me.

"I have to find something," Levy said as he pulled his hand from mine and crouched down to the drawers beside the door, looking through the files.

I was way out of line with what was going on. "What are you trying to search for? maybe I could help," Levy's mood was downright mad. He was closing the drawers aggressively and taking out files.

"You can't help with anything," he snapped and didn't care about hurting my feelings because he was too busy searching for a specific file.

"I'm out of here," I snapped back but he stood up and held me back in his arms, he kissed my forehead.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you," he apologized as he kissed my nose and lips, "I was looking for Meredith's file, she might be a patient here," he responded and I bit my lip.

"What are we going to do with the file if we find any file?" I asked while furrowing my eyebrows.

"To prove myself innocent, this would be enough evidence that could free me from another probation," he explained when he returned to his earlier position on the floor and looked into every file.

A victorious smirk found its way on Levy's lips with a file in his hand, "look, Lia, I found it. She was a patient with the traumatic disorder." he read out loud. It was nothing new since Levy was always freed but this case could actually land him in a deeper hole.

I went to the table and grabbed the gun but only in the worst timing.

The police barged in, their eyes found the source of their troubles but this time, it was in my hands.
