The bare night had a purpose in life; whether it was hiding the secrets or our lies, hiding a murder or the bad deeds of what people caused on a daily basis and hiding the continuous actions. It all happened at night, the darkness consumed the sins and hid it better than daylight.

This night had covered the fact that we killed two men and the two cars were hot on our tail.

Although Levy was a very brave driver, we were on the brink of death when the car almost hit the other cars in front of us that were either going on lovely dates or had families to go home to.

The car drifted in between the slow cars trying to gain time by speeding up more to the point where I had to hug my knees and close my eyes due to the dizziness I felt.

What was the baddest thing in our whole road trip? well, for one, it was the men following us, two, the police sirens were heard when unseen people reported about us probably or they had witnessed the dead bodies and lastly, the fact that we were chased by the police and the men in the same time.

The adrenaline rushed through my body and my head whizzed when my eyes looked up at the flash of scenes out the tainted window.

Luckily, the police bashed into the two cars in a chain of accidents and the metal pieces of their cars were thrown off as the gas leaked out of their cars to create a wildfire that burned them.

"Finally, something good happens," Levy shouted, catching me off guard when I gasped for air as another panic attack occurred, my hands gripped my knees harder as I tried to inhale and exhale but the erratic beats of my heart were not listening.

My eyes flickered harshly when a series of cars flashed by us the minute Levy increased the speed further.

"Levy, slow down please," I pleaded and it was enough for him to recognize my state of frenzy.

His eyes softened when he looked at me then decreased the speed of the car so we appeared to be a normal couple going on a car cruise. I let out a sigh of relief when my heartbeat went steady and my knees dropped.

"I'm sorry, Lia," Levy apologized when he took my sweaty hand in his and I sent him a shaky smile assuring him.

"I know this is hard for you to take in but we need to go through this for our chance at a better life," he continued with a kiss on my palm and interlaced his fingers with mine over the shifting stand.

I kissed the back of his hand and gazed ahead, not turning my head to look at the collateral damage behind us.

"We can do this, I believe in our chance," all forms of fear and distraught melted off of me, I was ready to tackle on anything as long as we go alive out of this.

All disasters aside, we calmly cruised while the dead men and burned policemen behind us were taken care of since we heard the sirens of other police cars trailed with an emergency van behind.

We prayed that nobody stopped him for the driver license since Levy didn't have one.

But fate decided to have her period when a car flashed the bright light behind us and Levy groaned when he stopped aside since we couldn't escape now.

Our luck was really turning its back on us when the man came up to us after I quickly placed a cap with matching black shades on Levy, we struggled to find Cooper's ID and the license until I opened the drawer in front of the dashboard and gave him both of the cards.

"Hello sir, may I have your ID?" Levy nodded as he gave the ID to the man. I was having a seizure internally as my hands fidgeted on my lap.

My heart accelerated when the man's eyes scanned the ID card. It was a benefit for us to know that Cooper wasn't that old so it made the whole look more convincing.

"Alright, drive slowly this time," the cop told Levy when he scanned the card on the machine to validate that the card wasn't fake then gave back the ID with a gentle smile, we both politely smiled like we were a legitimate couple.

"Sure, we will," the cop stared into my jittery eyes for longer before shaking his doubts off once Levy closed the window, returning back to his car.

We both sagged in utter relief and Levy didn't hesitate to drive again so we could reach the hotel in peace.

"Levy, my aunt knows that we are here, that's why she sent those men," I exclaimed with wide eyes and he contemplated until he gave me a glance.

"Yes, she knows but what she doesn't know that her men lost track of us and we are going to stay in a hotel, I bet she is getting agitated that nobody came back to report to her," Levy darkly chuckled and I assumed that he had a good point but it didn't support the fact that she was able to track us so successfully meaning that her mental powers were threatening us.

The beat-up car parked in front of the hotel and the clock signaled the start of midnight. We had taken a long time because of the sudden attack and I felt bad for Cooper's death, wondering about the family he left behind.

Our eyes believed in one thing as the hotel sign glowed delightfully at us with clean and cut bushes surrounding the entrance in a form of natural beauty. Our hands joined each other and our bodies stood tall to the hotel like it was our only hope in a better chance of life.

"Let's do this." was the last thing I said before the helpers came to collect our luggage.
