Carousels went up and down with dizzy lights and playful children. My eyes sparkled at the big sign that was titled "The Carnival Amusement Park" which was near the Ritz-Carlton.

After the doctor let me out, we checked out and grabbed our packed bags, we decided to discover the amusement park until his dad's arrival. Mr. Clay made me feel safe and secured because he was the top leader when it came down to gangs, he would be able to save us from this nightmare.

Ever since we left, Levy was extra-protective of me, he wouldn't let me carry a thing and he would go before me to check our surroundings for any unexpected sign of danger. He was sweet when he wanted to be, broody when he wanted to be and destructive when he wanted to be. It was like his moods were in order based on the way he found situations.

"Babe, do you want to eat? are you feeling better?" he bugged with questions and I just told him that I was not hungry, he would ask me every two minutes, the guy would roll out a red carpet for me.

"I should get shot more often, so you could take care of me like that," I joked but that only made him glare at me in return, "too soon?" I asked innocently and he replicated. We both chuckled and then explored the roller coasters which made me eager to try them.

"Levy, please, just one ride." I pleaded as I jumped up and down with an excited gleam in my eyes, Levy was so hard-headed when it came down to my safety.

After several difficult attempts to crack Levy's stubborn walls, he accepted if I would stop nagging. He paid for a playing card and we went to the first roller coaster I wanted to try: The Dreamland Rollercoaster. The story behind it, as I read about it before, was that it was the highest rollercoaster and ironically, it leads to the sky where it stated that the sky was the limit to dreams, that was why they called it dreamland because the roller coaster reached the sky.

I laughed when Levy tried to mask his fear away by telling me that this ride was not healthy for my arm. Knowing Levy, he was scared of heights but as he had a reputation of a killer to behold, he would usually act cool and like he didn't care about riding the highest roller coaster.

We buckled our seatbelts as I felt the exquisite rush of the wind as the ride started and my eyes watered while covered with the plastic safety glasses when the ride sped up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and Levy screamed as I giggled, even more, when my head whizzed with excitement at the fastest speed of the rollercoaster, then, the rollercoaster reached to the sky vertically and rolled over in an upside-down motion, I grasped my hands on the handles of the ride in front of me as our bodies were flipped over.

"Remind me not to allow you to these rides anymore," he groaned when the ride finished as he held his head, "I feel like my teeth are falling out." He whined some more, I rolled my eyes at his dramatic expressions.

We passed by the food stands only to watch the catch-a-teddy electronic machine, I urged Levy to try it and he swiped the playing card. His eyes were calculating when I picked the bear I wanted, it was a red bear holding out a heart, Levy concentrated on the bear biting his lower lip as his hand manoeuvred the metal handle to where the bear was and he harshly clicked the button, praying with his eyes as mine widen when the metal caught the bear between the piles of bears, as it went up claiming my present, it dropped back into the pile again.

"Dammit, this is a stupid game." He cursed and I went for a try, it turned out that the machine was not properly working because the metal handle would catch the bear and drop it again. It was tricking people into believing that they won and dropping it, deflating their hopes just to take their money. It kind of reminded me of the trouble we were in now. The metal handle was the men and the bears were us.

I meant I wouldn't call Levy a small teddy bear because he was huge.

Okay Lia, get your head out of the gutter. I scolded myself and took a deep breath.

After we decided to eat at a deserted burger joint, the clock on my phone showed that it was nine in the morning meaning that his dad's arrival was near.

"Babe, my father just called me, he arrived and he told me that he will meet us in front of the Fairmont hotel." He said when he closed his phone off. I was relieved that it was still located in San Francisco and it only took one hour from Ritz-Carlton to Fairmont.

Saying bye to the carnival, we strolled the sidewalk to the cab stop and settled inside when we found one.

Levy wrapped an arm around me, careful not to squish my injured arm. I didn't take the time to indulge in San Francisco's beauty because we would always be from one place to another.

The cab took off after Levy told him where we wanted to go and kissed my forehead down to my lips. I shyly pulled away, not wanting to cause a show for the lonely driver.

"What are you thinking, baby?" he asked me with a graceful smile on his face as I nuzzled into his neck comfortably.

"I was thinking about how all of this would turn out in the end." I sighed out, he gave me a calm kiss on my nose as I inhaled his amazing scent.

After an hour and a dozen kisses, we arrived at a very elegant-looking Mr Clay Martin.
