A quietness has come over the land

The birds have fled to lands much warmer

The deer are resting before the rut

The leaves, they are falling.

Everything seems perfectly still

Like a rabbit, quivered in place

But soon, it will leap into action!

And everything will twist, and turn.

The trees shake slightly

In the late summer sun, setting into the sky

Growing dimmer as the night closes in.

The squirrels are hurrying to find nuts.
