By invisible bonds

We are bound

To Fire, Earth

Wind and Water.

-

For us humans

Have claimed all

First of Earth, Water

Then of Fire, Air.

-

Other creatures come from two

Some perhaps, of three.

The raven, the dolphin

Are twin masters.

-

But the only reason

We have come so far

Is for mastery of Fire and Air.

The hardest to come by.

-

The ocean teams

With water creatures

Those that have found

Their place in history

-

Mammals. Lizards.

Have mastered earth.

To walk

And run!

-

Birds of the sky

Have mastered Air

Some have even

Twins of three.

-

But I can think of no other creature

Anywhere.

That has mastered Fire

As we have.

-
