Tick-tock

There goes the clock

Everyone else is talking

Nobody's listening to the lecture

Oh. There's a sparrow

Look out the window!

Everyone else keeps talking.

The bird looks at me, shifting its head

It begins to rain

Droplets splattering on the bush

The sparrow still sits

watching me,

and I, it.

But then the class quiets

And the teacher stares

And begins to yell

"PAY ATTENTION"

The sparrow flies away.
