Evan burst through the door screaming. "Someone always has to get in the way." Envy said, yanking her close to him and holding her tight. Maice was on the floor against the wall, bleeding severely. "And what do ya know! The sacrifice tagged along as well!" Edward stood at the door, not knowing what to do. "I don't have my other arm, Winry didn't give me a cheap one either!" He thought. Sloth stood in front of Maice, but looked back at the scene. "Kill her already, Envy." She groaned. "Don't...touch her." Maice managed to stand, her wound still bleeding heavily. "Just die already kid. You've lost." Envy rattled, but Maice shook her head. "That's not...what dogs like me do. We fight until... The end." She looked at Edward. "He's your sacrifice?" Maice picked up the gun beside her and pointed it at Edward. Envy laughed. "You wouldn't do it." He hissed. "Try...me." Maice groaned. Envy plunged a knife through Evan's side, she yelped in pain and Maice fire. Edward ducked. Maice kept firing at him as he ran around the room. "What the hell are you doing?!" He screeched as bullets flew by his head. Envy dropped Evan and tackled Maice. "Damn it. You a little brat." Envy punched her gut and Maice stared into his eyes. "Damn... Yourself, homunculus." She mumbled. Her vision was starting to blur. Edward pulled Envy off of her. Then the door flew open once more. Maice couldn't tell who it was but the homunculus fled before they came. Maice managed to pick herself up once more and plump down next to Evan. She tore off part of her pant leg and wrapped it around her waist. "You need it more than I do Maice." Evan groaned as she held her waist. Maice shook her head. "Not me, no...anyone in this whole damned place needs it more than I do." They smiled. Evan started to faint, and Maice was on the brink of fainting, but she kept herself up, putting pressure on her wound. Her gloves were still on, bloody, but the transmutation circles were not harmed. A man came over, trying to pick up Evan. Maice couldn't see them thanks to her blood loss but she growled. "Don't...touch her." She pulled Evan closer to her. The man tried once more. Maice flared her fingers out, creating a barricade of dogs. "She's gone through enough hell for one day." Maice mumbled. She created a path through the dogs, and stood up, fighting through the pain. She plucked Evan up and followed the blurry man out the door. She heard Roy's voice somewhere in the crowd. "Go get...the Colonel." She groaned to the man. She heard the man jog to him and start speaking to him. Maice bent down and gently set Evan down on the ground, resting her head on her knee. She heard the men rush over to them. Maice peered up at Roy and mumbled. "I'm trusting...you to get...her to the hospital." She could barely make out Roy's nod. She felt Evan's head be lifted from her knee. "Maice! Why'd you try to kill me?" She heard Edward yell. By the time he got to her, she fell, all the noise and feeling flooded away from her as she finally gave in and fainted.
