Otterdawn was tired. She wanted to fall on the ground, like what many others were. Lilyriver lay on a sharp rock, her blood running down the side. Silverheart lay on the ground her neck twisted. Many other cats from other clans were also dead.

Otterdawn realized that there was only one more rogue left. She plunged her claws into its neck, and it fell limp. She turned her head to look at her remaining Clanmates and the other surviving cats.

Then she dropped.

She woke up to the sound of rushing water. She opened her eyes to a woven twig ceiling. She sat up, gasping. Darksight... Betrayed...

Berrywhisker leaned over her. "Oh, thank StarClan that you're alive! You see, your blood was leaking too much, and when they hit the ground," she lowered her voice, "it turned gold."

Duskrose barged in gasping. Duskrose had cobwebs all over her body. "I found out why." She explained.

StarClan? Blood? That didn't make any sense...

"Oh." Otterdawn froze. She was given the strongest power out of all of the three...

To send them to their destiny.

She shook her fur and stood up. "Hey, you're not done yet! I'm not done applying the poultices yet!" Berrywhisker yowled.

Otterdawn shot one sad look at Berrywhisker. "I can't. It's my destiny."

Berrywhisker's anger faded and was replaced with guilt. "Oh..." She lowered her head. "It's what StarClan wants you to do. We can't defy them."

Otterdawn and Duskrose left the den. They found Cricketpaw talking with Foxlight.

"Oh, wait - when did we create a camp for us to live?" Otterdawn asked, shocked.

"When you were out," Duskrose murmured.

Cricketpaw saw them and got up. "So are we ready...?" She whispered, sadness floating in her eyes.

Otterdawn nodded. She then padded into Dawnstar's den. "Dawnstar..."

"All cats from this clan gather underneath the Great Dawn Rock for a clan meeting!" Dawnstar yowled. It was supposed to be 'All cats old enough to catch their own prey', but this meeting was for every clanmate. Every clanmate that was important to them.

Shadowstorm, Hazelfoot, and Sparroweyes bounded over, the rest of the clan trailing behind.

"You might wonder why I called everyone," Dawnstar started. "It turns out StarClan has sent us a message. 3 of our valuable members will leave us today."

Every cat started murmuring.

"Who?"

"Why?"

"Three?!"

"But before they leave, I would like to give the apprentice her warrior name," Dawnstar announced gravely. "Cricketpaw, please step forward."

"Cricketpaw?!" A loud question shot through the clearing.

Cricketpaw stepped forward and nodded her head. She looked up at Dawnstar.

Dawnstar announced, "I, Dawnstar, leader of DawnClan, call upon my warrior ancestors on this apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn."

Then she looked at Cricketpaw. "Cricketpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Cricketpaw nodded her head. "I do."

Dawnstar continued, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Cricketpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Cricketflight. StarClan honors your braveness and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of DawnClan."

Cricketpaw licked Dawnstar's shoulder and Dawnstar put her muzzle on Cricketpaw's head.

"Cricketflight! Cricketflight! Cricketflight!"

Cricketflight nodded her head and turned to the Otterdawn and Duskrose.

Otterdawn announced, "Duskrose, Cricketflight, and I will leave now. Thank you for taking care of us," she swept her eyes across the clan. "Remember the times that summer was in the hills. Our road was lined with adventure, but it couldn't keep us from our destiny. Here we stand, open paws, stronger than we were before. You will see our shadows in the trees." Then she nodded to the other two.

They stood in a circle, and Otterdawn used her magic and created a magic purple aura around them. They floated up, up, up. Otterdawn glanced down and saw the whole clan looking up at them, tears in their eyes. Was this the end? The love in the clan. The happiness. The loyalty. All gone. But together they looked up, flying into the clouds, straight into a hole in the clouds.

The whole world turned shimmery.

A figure morphed in front of them. "Welcome," she purred. "I am Bluestar, and I welcome you to StarClan."

Together, sadly but surely, they stepped into the cloud portal.

I am strong.

I am loyal.

I am strong.

I am my destiny.
