Also here's a thing I did

Warnings: None

~Vikk's P.O.V.~

Have you ever felt your stomach drop, at a moment when all your worst fears come true? Where you feel absolutely helpless, knowing there is nothing you can do to fix a situation? This is a feeling I've rarely flirted with, but now, it's all I know.

Nononononononononono this can not be happening. Nah. This is a dream. It's gotta be! Right? ...right? If only that were the case. Salty tears roll down my cheeks, and I sob quietly, gazing at my hideous reflection in the mirror. Ugly rotten green skin, open sores, visible bloody bones.... I'm a monster.

The last thing I remember is passing out on the floor after experimenting with my powers. Everything after that is a blurry puddle of nothingness. I know something happened, but what that is, I can't say. And then, the next thing I know, I'm waking up with a throbbing head, and there's this awful stench lingering in the room, like rotting flesh. Groggily, I'd sat up, witnessed Rob unconscious on the ground, a potion smashed on the floor, several things upturned, and Preston asleep against a wall, Silver curled peacefully in his lap. I went to go see if Rob was okay, and that's when I noticed my gem had black veins running through a half, and that half my hand was rotting and falling apart. I didn't want to believe it, but here I am, my own hideous reflecting taunting me with the reality that I am now, and forever will be, a zombie hybrid.

Thunder claps outside, and wind knocks against Robs home, the entire thing creaking ominously as if it will topple at any moment. A mood as glum as the clouds outside envelopes me, and I slump down in defeat, clutching at my hair and hiding my ugly face in my knees and wishing a black hole would just open up underneath me and swallow me whole. Sure I can save the world, but after that? I'll never be accepted again! I wonder if this is how Preston feels... I ponder gloomily, allowing my fear and grief to overtake my thoughts. But then, before I can continue on my train wreck of emotions, there's a sudden shriek jolting me back into reality.

I jump to my feet, every muscle in my body screaming in protest, and my head turns wildly to find the source of the noise. Apparently the screech was Preston, who must've had some sort of bad dream, because his eyes are now wider than the moon and he's shivering, hugging his knees impossibly close to his chest. Silver starts awake too, whining and pawing at his side, attempting to comfort her master. For a moment, the realization of my new look disappears and I rush towards him, my lips finding the words to express my concern. But before I can say a word, his gaze shifts to me, and he yelps again, turning his entire forearm into a lava sword and holding it directly towards me. I skid to a stop, a stab of hurt piercing my heart, and hold up my hands.

"Hey, hey, it's alright." I state hurriedly, eyeing the sword with wariness. "I'm not trying to eat you, I'm just checking if you're okay."

There's a moment of silence as Preston registers the situation, and instead of reacting with disgust and distaste, he instead breaks down into bright glowing orange tears, his arm morphing back to normal as he hugs it tightly around himself. I frown, pushing away my own self-pity to care for my companion. I kneel down beside him, resting a hand on his shoulder.

"What's wrong? What happened?"
He takes a shaky breath, and the words come tumbling out. "Itwasdarkandstormyandthereweremobseverywhereandiwasbeingchokedandthentherewerealltheseblackfiguresandiwasdroppedintothisblackvoidbythisevilthingandherobrinewasthereandhekilledmeandsaidwewouldntwinand-"
"Woah, hey, slow down." I interrupt him, having not understanding a single word he said. "Just, take a deep breath. It was just a bad dream, there's nothing to worry about."

He complies, taking an uneven breath in, and letting it out after a few seconds, screwing his eyes shut in the process.

"Now, just, relax. Rest. Keep an eye on Rob, and I'm going to go upstairs and look for some food, alright?"

He nods, bottom lip quivering and wiping his tears away with the sleeve of his hoodie. I give him another pat on the shoulder, then push myself to my feet and climb up the stairs in search of something to put in the poor lava mobs stomach.

And that's when I hear it.

      Help.... me....

I stop dead in my tracks, wondering if I'm going crazy, or I really did just hear someone calling for help. I strain my ears, but hear nothing. Passing it off as the wind, I continue up the stairs.

Vikkram. Please... I have important information. Please... help me... I don't have much time.

The voice is weak and faint, scratchy and seeming to falter with every word. Even though I don't know why or how I'm doing it, I try reaching out with my mind instead of my words.

      Where are you?
     Outside...

I glance down the stairs, before deciding Preston can deal with my absence for a few minutes. Pushing open the heavy door, I'm met with a blockade of wind and rain that causes me to stagger back with its sheer force. Ducking my head to the elements, I step out into the dark, the door slamming shut behind me. I haven't been out here ten seconds, and already I am completely drenched.

The glow of torches illuminated not two blocks ahead, and beyond that, a watery abyss. The moon is shielded by clouds, and yet, in the midst of this pitch black, there is not a single mob. I shield my eyes with one freezing half-rotten hand, but can't make out any sort of figures in the field.

      In the treeline...

Despite several warning bells ringing in my head, I push into the night, forcing my way through the driving wind and rain towards the treeline. It's only then do I see the lanky black figure of something huddled by a tree, arms wrapped around its chest tightly, knees pulled up. Summoning the last reserves of my strength, I shamble forward, the wind being buffeted by the strong trees as I stumble into the forest.

      "Who are- AHH!"

I leap away as the figure raises it head, and I come face to face with the piercing purple eyes of an enderman. Having no weapons to defend myself, I transform into a polar bear, jolts of pain running through my flesh. I read up on my hind legs, preparing to rake my black claws through the mobs skull.

Wait no! I mean you no harm... please, let me explain.

Pausing, I drop to all fours once again, but remain in my polar bear form just in case. The enderman is weak and skinnier than normal, covered with burns, and one of its eyes is dull and lifeless. A rain drop makes contact with one spindly arm, and it hisses in displeasure, quivering helplessly against the tree. I feel a ping of empathy for the creature, but keep my distance nonetheless.

"How did you end up like this? Why can I hear you? What do you want."
The enderman stares at me, breathing heavily. Allow me to explain. You were bit by a zombie when we mobs still roamed free, and were not properly healed. As such, you were transformed, but your mage friend managed to restore you back. Not fully, but enough to not be overwhelmed with your hostile desires. However, since you are still half zombie, you have the ability to communicate with all hostile mobs, as well as neutral mobs such as endermen and zombie pigmen. The endermen coughs roughly, another wave of pain shaking its body.
"You said you had something important to tell me, what is it? And where do you come from?"
Every single mob in the world has been captured and transported to a massive nether fortress by the evil one. You know him by the name Herobrine. There, he is mind controlling every single mob and drafting them to five armies. One army, yielding a majority of the mobs, is tasked to guard his domain. The other four are under the rule of four generals, who also hold the keys to access his domain. These four generals along with their minions are sweeping land, sea, and everything in between, destroying most and capturing what or who remains. These are; Endi, the enderman hybrid. Plague, the wither hybrid. Void, the enderdragon hybrid. And riptide, the elder guardian hybrid. Your other three companions, the other white gems, have already slain Endi. Their names are Jerome, Mitch, and Lachlan. Having defeated Endi, all mobs under his control were released. This resulted those of us who remained to scatter. They attempted to capture us again, but most of us got away, and are now roaming but in hiding. I was captured, but escaped. I sensed your newfound abilities, and so I journeyed here to inform you, in hopes that this crucial information may help you and your friends dethrone Herobrine and restore balance to the world.

The enderman takes a wheezing breath, and once again my brain is silent. I stay silent in a stunned yet solemn respect, allowing him to convey anything else he must, before he will inevitably die. His good eye dims.

Seek out any mobs in hiding when possible. Reach out to them with your mind. You can rally a small army, and in time, you may reign over the mobs and alongside them defeat Herobrine.

He shakes violently, his last words faltering.

And one... last thing... your friends. The three.. they are crossing through the Nether, to find you... they will fall. Make haste, and go to the fortress... defeat Plauge as six, or our world is doomed...

And with that, the noble enderman dies in a puff of smoke, the only remainder of his presence being a shiny turquoise enderpearl.
