The Next  Day 

Morning - Auradon Prep - Library

The VKs were in Remedial Goodness 101.

"Children, excuse me." Fairy Godmother told them. "Um, as you know, uh, this Sunday is Family Day here at Auradon Prep, and because your parents can't be here due to uh, distance..." Mal scoffed. "We've arranged for a special treat."

Fairy Godmother turned on the TV to show them their parents on a screen, but their parents couldn't see them, having issues with the laptop.

"I don't see anything, nor do I hear." Maleficent told them.

"Kids." Fairy Godmother called.

The VKs walked up to the TV. 

"Is it..." Cruella trailed off. "Is it... is..."

"Press enter." Jafar suggested.

"Can I please see a remote?" Maleficent demanded. "Is this thing on? Ugh, it's broken. Ugh, I hate electronic equip--" Jafar got the picture to pull up, so they could now see and hear their children. "Oh!"

"Evie, it's mommy." Evil Queen told her. "Oh, look how beautiful. Oh, you know what they say, the poison apple doesn't fall from the tree."

"Don't you mean the weeds?" Maleficent asked.

Cruella saw Fairy Godmother. "Ooh, who's the old bat?"

Fairy Godmother frowned having felt insulted by Cruella's comment.

"This is Fairy Godmother." Mal answered.

"Still doing tricks with eggplants?" Maleficent asked.

"I turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage!" Fairy Godmother defended herself.

"You really couldn't give Cinderella till 1:00 A.M.?" Maleficent asked. "I mean, really. What, the hamsters had to be back on their little wheels?"

The Villains laughed.

"They were mice!" Fairy Godmother corrected. "They weren't... they were mice. They weren't..."

"Thank you so much." Mal told her. "Thank you."

"They were mice." Fairy Godmother repeated, stepping aside to let the villains talk to their children

"Hi, mom." Mal greeted.

Maleficent lunged forward, with her usual insane and loud voice making everyone jump again. "Mal! I m... m..." She could only get the words out when Evil Queen nudged her. "Miss you." 

Mal nodded sarcastically, not buying it, rolling her eyes, looking away.

"You children are never far from our thoughts." Jafar told them.

"I got it." Maleficent said. "Mal, how long must mommy wait to see you?"

"Uh, there's a big Coronation coming up." Mal explained. "I think sometime probably after... that."

"When?" Maleficent asked.

"Friday, 10:00 A.M." Mal answered her mother.

"You sure I can't see you before that?" Maleficent asked. "I don't know what I'll do if I don't get my hands on that magic..." Evil Queen hit Maleficent over the head. "You, you little nugget that I love so much."

Mal smiled sarcastically, nodding. "Yes, I completely understand, Mother."

Cruella suddenly lunged toward the camera when she saw that Carlos was holding his dog Dude. "Carlos, is that a dog?" She spoke to the stuffed dog on her shoulder. "Oh, yes, yes, baby, I do understand. It would make the perfect size for earmuffs." Cruella cackled.

Carlos stepped forward, having finally chosen to stand up to his mom. "He's the perfect size for a pet!" Cruella gasped in shock. "This dog loves me, and I love him. And FYI, your dog is stuffed!" Cruella gasped. "So, give it a rest!"

Jafar laughed. "Oh-ho, burn!"

"Why don't you go sella toaster, you two bit salesman?" Cruella replied.

"People who talk to stuffed animals shouldn't throw stones." Jafar quipped.

"Oh, well, people who sell toasters shouldn't use mixed metaphors." Cruella snapped.

Evil Queen raised her voice, "Enough!"

Jay turned off the TV before any of their parents could finish. 

Fairy godmother looked at the VKs sadly in sympathy, seeing how sad they were because of their parents acting like that. "I'm so sorry."

Jay sighed. "Thanks for the special treat."

Fairy Godmother nodded. "Of course."

Jay, Evie, Mal and Carlos started two walk away.

"M?" Evie asked. "What do you think our parents are gonna do to us if we don't pull this off?" 

Mal considered what to say, speaking sarcastically. "I think they will be quietly disappointed in us, but ultimately... proud of us for doing our best."

"Really?" Carlos asked."

"No," Mal answered. "I think we are definitely goners."

"Yeah." Evie agreed.

Jay, Evie, Mal and Carlos looked at each other anxiously, as they left the library.

Auradon Prep - Carlos and Jay's Dorm Room

That night the VKs were in the boys' dorm room, reviewing the plan to steal the wand.

"Okay, we all know what this looks like." Mal told them. "So it'll be up on the dais under the Beast's spell jar, and we'll be coming in from here. I'll be in the very front. You all will be up in the balcony. Okay. Carlos?"

"Okay, so I'll find our limo, so we can break the barrier, and, uh, get back on the island with the wand." Carlos told them.

Mal nodded. "Perfect. Evie."

"What?" Evie asked.

Mal handed Evie a perfume bottle. "You'll use this to take out the driver. Two sprays and he'll be out like a light."

"Okay." Evie agreed.

They all looked at each other, like they didn't really wanna do this.

Mal sat down and began to skim through her spell book, Evie saw it was the page for how to make an Anti Love Potion. "M, you want to break Ben's love spell?"

Mal nodded. "Yeah. You know, for after. I don't... I've just been thinking, you know, when the villains finally do invade Auradon and begin to loot and kick everyone out of their castles and imprison their leaders and destroy all that's good and beautiful, Ben still being in love with me just seems a little extra... cruel." Evie nodded in agreement, sadly. Mal stood, closing her spell book.

Later that same night Jay was laying in his bed thinking to himself if he really wanted to go through with this, he then got up and looked at his trophy sadly. He then looked at the black gem that was on his dresser.

Carlos rolled over in his bed to look at his dog Dude, he pet Dude's head hearing him whimper. Carlos rolled up his sleeve looking sadly at the Blue Dino Gem on his wrist.

Evie and Mal's Dorm Room

Evie was looking at her test which she had gotten a B+ on without having to use her Magic Mirror for the answers. She put it down and then started remembering her date with Scott and how she enjoyed being with him, before she rolled up her sleeve gazing at the Yellow Dino Gem on her wrist.

Scott and Ben's Dorm Room

Scott was laying in bed, looking up at the ceiling, thinking about his date with Evie, he let out a breath before looking at his wrist where the Red Dino Gem was, unable to fall asleep Scott got up and looked out the window, toward the place he and Evie had their first date.

Kitchen

In the kitchen Mal was nearly finished making the Anti-love Potion brownies, when she started to sing.

A million thoughts

In my head

Should I let my heart

Keep listening?

As Mal sang, she felt like she was gonna cry, which was a first for her seeing as how she's never cried in her life.

I know it's time

To say goodbye

So hard to let go

A teardrop fell into the brownie batter as Mal cried, feeling very sad and upset over this whole thing. She then closed her spell book and put the brownies into the oven.

Talk about a sad ending for the chapter, I know it made me almost want to cry. I hope you guys enjoy the chapter and get ready because the next chapter will be Family Day.
