We lay in bed, under the warmth of the blankets as we held each other.

"My first birthday sex," she noted.

"An honour."

"Mhm."

I held her closer to me, as if she would somehow fly away. In the end, it didn't go the way I thought it would, but it went to the bright side and she accepted the truth of reality.
