Neiyat's POV:

Mostly the elders walked out to the garden area to have their dinner. While I saw Lavanya kept whispering something in his ears and he laughed out loudly and I don't know why I was suddenly all so uncomfortable!!!

While Ved kept whining...
'Babe...I wanna dance....we are engaged... you're mine now!!!' he said at once holding my waist. Although I really wasn't willing to, he dragged me on the floor. Lights dimmed and we began dancing while the music switched and suddenly partners exchanged.

And next I knew was Aahir's strong wood fragrance hits my nose. I lift my head up to look at his brownish black ones hiding behind those frameless glasses. And automatically a smile appeared on my face and he said...

'Neiyat I'm a terrible dancer... save your engagement ceremony! I don't want to crash into people because honestly I don't even know how to move...this is so complex!!!' he said and I chuckled.

He is a big baby!!!

'Relax... here hold onto my waist' I said and his facial expressions changed. I kept looking into his eyes and said at once...

'You have to think so much...just few minutes ago you were all free with Lavanya... what's the issue with me...hold me Aahir!!!' I said and his lips parted slightly but he didn't move his hands. So I voluntarily held his left hand in my right and placed it on my waist. I could feel his fingers shiver as it touched my waist. I held his other hand in mine and slowly kept my right hand on his chest and although it was far from his left side I could literally feel his heart thumping so loud!!! I kept looking into his eyes and we moved to the slow music.

He looked too much worked up because of our posture right now. To relax him I began doing small talks with him, which gradually calmed him down and finally I asked him...

'What did you tell dad last night? He just agreed for this engagement!!! How???' I asked and he slightly smiled and then said...

'When you love somebody...you only see their happiness and nothing else!!!' and I kept looking deep in his eyes while he suddenly broke the eye lock and said...

'Neiv uncle loves you a lot Neiyat!!! He would always want his Lady-Gabbar to be happy forever after!!!' and I don't know why I asked at once...

'And you Aahir??? Are you happy' and his eyes yet another time met mine and this time it felt like time stopped. We kept looking into each other's eyes for I don't know how long only for our concentration to be broken by a loud scream.

And we turned around to see Ved being thrashed left and right by a man while Lavanya kept shouting and pleading...

'Aditya please stop!!! Please please noooo please' she kept pulling the man but he behaved like a ghost had entered him. Like a boxing champion he began throwing punches on his already swollen face...

While we ran there to stop him while Ved's parents kept begging him...
'Mr Suryavanshi please stop... please...you cannot do this ..he is our son...it's his engagement ceremony' but the man didn't listen to a single word and kept smashing his face only for his nose to have broken and bled badly.

Aahir went and held him at once saying...
'Cool....cool down bro...relax!!! Stop stoppp' and dragged him behind. He was almost 6.3. Way taller and bulkier than Aahir was but Aahir somehow managed to pull him back.

Then he looked at Lavanya and his expressions softened as Lavanya whispered a 'Please...'

I couldn't really understand what happened...
Ved's mother walked into Ved and looked at his face and began cursing the man...

'I told you Aman ji... don't get these film fraternity people...they maybe your close-knit but they certainly don't know how to behave...how to react...look at the way my son is bleeding' she kept crying...

While the man carelessly loosened his cufflinks and picked his blazer from the chair and walked towards Ved's father and said ..

'Mr Kakkar...tell your wife...Film Fraternity people are excellent in dramatics!!! And if I begin my drama right here and unveil the storyline of what your son behaved with a woman...I'm sure there wouldn't be an engagement!!!' and I saw him looking at Lavanya. He took a step closer to her and looked at her and asked her...

'Will you be fine?' and we could clearly see the posessivness in his eyes while Lavanya simply nodded. Next he walked towards me and said...

'A man is good or bad is best known only with the way he treats a woman!!! I was told you wanted to marry Mr. Kakkar's son because he reminds of your grandfather. Mr Dev Kapoor??? But one suggestion I would give you...take it or leave it...your wish!!! Your choice certainly doesn't know how to respect the other gender! Think again...you are still young! Remember all that glitters isn't D.K!!! ' saying he looked at Ved's father and said...

'The deal is closed Mr Kakkar!!! I don't work with molesters!!!' and he walked out of the living room and I was left stupified.

Molester???? Aahir and I looked at Lavanya who simply walked out of that place.

Aahir ran behind Lavanya and my eyes kept looking at them. She broke down saying something to him while he hugged her tightly. Something broke inside me seeing Lavanya like that. I knew she wouldn't lie about such a thing. I know her since my childhood. She was my childhood bestie.

'She is lying Mumma...she was asking for it!!!' Ved said and his mother cooed him saying...

'I know baby...look at her... after all she's an actress...these actresses have no shame, no cla'

'Stopppp!!!' I screamed at once and Ved's mother looked at me with a furious expression.

'Luv never lies...she is my childhood bestie...I know her! She can never lie with such a thing!!!' I spat at once.

While Ved's mother stood up asking...
'Oh really??? And my son lies is it??? Is this some joke??? Look Neiyat...you need to trust your husband...I know my son...he would never do such a thing... and even if he did... can't you see the way she dresses up...she exposes too much...these actresses are bimbos...they need attenti'

'Enough Aunty stop!!! Not a word aunty!!! Not a word!!!' saying I ran from there...

I saw Aahir kept comforting Lavanya as she was completely broken and those words by Mr Suryavanshi kept ringing in my ears...

All that glitters isn't D.K.

I removed my bangles...my jewellery and stood infront of the mirror trying to recall everything. Ved tried to touch Lavanya inappropriately???

And I ...I was trying to see my Dadu in him??? Him??? Really????
I sat thinking for hours together. I couldn't sleep the entire night. What am I doing with my life. This is my engagement ceremony and I didn't go downstairs post that incident. I was ashamed to face Lavanya.

Ved kept calling me the entire night and I kept disconnecting the call. After a point I switched off my phone.

I tried to sleep but even after wee morning hours I couldn't I woke up and decided to take an errand.

I needed fresh breath of air, so I wore my track suit and went downstairs only to see Dev Dadu sitting on the bench in our garden and smelling the freshly blossomed jasmine.

'Dadu??? So early???'

To which he smiled saying...
'Nei Puttar (child) ...come...look at this jasmine...it is so beautiful...it's the dwarf rare Jasmine...it blossoms only once in few months and we keep waiting for it throughout the year but when it does we really don't value it. You know this plant really doesn't need much of a pampering like your Daadi's rare blue Orchids do...Your Daadi is desperately behind those orchid flowers nowadays ever since she has come back from her Thailand trip after seeing it in her friend's garden she desperately wants to grow them here, she pampers them, nurtures them only to see them blossom but they are wild!!! Not for this climate but that oldie doesn't understand. You know this is the problem with us...we always want something more exotic and we ignore what we have...we think the exotic and fancy is best for us... because someone else has it...we simply don't realise the value of what we are loosing upon!!!' Daadu said and everything began sinking inside me.

Am I also running behind something far fetched and fancy???

Is Ved really the one for me??? Specially after what he did with Lavanya last night. Although he kept apologizing on the messages saying he was drunk but I have seen my parents, my Daadu drink. No one ever misbehaved with a woman.

Just then Daadu called me closer and said....
'Heyyy baby smell this come come' and I smiled and bent to take the sweet fragrance in and then I closed my eyes. Suddenly Aahir's deep brown eyes came infront of my face. I could hear Daadu speaking to someone but my thoughts still went back to recollect that heartfelt smile.

What am I doing...I need to stop...I am engaged to Ved now...

And I opened my eyes only to see Aahir bending to my height and taking the sweet smell of the jasmine and smiling at me. My lips automatically curved into a happy one.

'Daadu this is excellent...you know what...you must tie them in a thread and take them to Daadi... she'll be impressed' he said while Daadu winked saying...
'Good idea' and I pressed my lips hard to control my laughter.

These both are so damn romantic!!! I saw in no time Aahir was plucking the flowers and Dadu kept tying them together and they both looked so damn happy with their little deeds!!!

'Goshhh what's happening!!!' I heard Lavanya's voice and I smiled saying...

'Well both romeos are trying to Impress Mrs Devil!!! Gosh they are so cute!!!' I said while Lavanya smiled saying...

'Indeed Ishu Daadi is so lucky to have Daadu but then I'm sure Aahir's wife would also never regret I mean have you seen the hands which stitched chests are now tying a flower bunch...lucky Mrs Future Sehgal' she said and I don't know why something grumbled in my stomach.

Lavanya was about to leave while I stopped her...
'Luv...I'm sorry on Ved's behalf last night' to which she turned around and smiled saying...

'I am fine Neiyat... honestly...I may sound rude or interfering...but think again... because I feel sorry for your future!!!' saying she walked away and I was left numb!
