'Come on Shinichi you just have to take out the ring and propose that's it'

He thoughts.

Both of his hands hold the cutlery, thinking whether to loosen the grip on it or not. He's anxious. Anxious of what? Of proposing the gorgeous auburn-haired girl in front of him who elegantly places the meat in her mouth by using the cutlery that perfectly fit on her delicate hand.

It was Shinichi's idea at first to invite her to have dinner in this fancy western restaurant. About the proposal, he doesn't actually plan to do it tonight yet both of her friends, Kaito and Heiji insist to take things to the next level.

"Oi Kudo, what's taking you so long? Just propose will ya. I know you bought that ring months ago" said Heiji as he's been looking at Kudo who is currently staring at the ring on his hand- he's been staring at the ring for almost an hour already.

"Yeah, it's making me sick looking at both of you still taking it slow. It's obvious Shiho and you want to take it further yet none of you making a move. Be a man Kudo, she's sure will accept it" said Kaito as he plays the coin between his fingers.

"What if she rejected my proposal and said our relationship is just a joke? She can be all mean and such a devil sometimes. Maybe our relationship is just revenge for me to not notice her feelings before, plus I've been hurting her before. Ah, this thing drives me crazy, I've never been this pessimistic before" said Shinichi as the anxiousness take over him completely.

Heiji and Kaito look at each other, then at Kudo, back and forth.

"Man, I've never thought this thing will be this bad," said Heiji to Kaito, half-whispered.

"Oi Kudo, take it easy. Of course, that woman can be all devil as much as she wants but she will never make your relationship as revenge for her to you. She will never play you, you know that. Are you losing your faith in her already?" said Heiji, stating the fact.

"Look- it's not that I'm losing my faith in her. I still have my trust in her, she's one of the people that know me deeply. I-It's just... man, I don't know. I am nervous and I have no clue why I feel this way" said Kudo.

Kaito stands up as he walks to the most famous detective in the east direction. He settles himself beside him as he snatches the ring from his hand. Kudo moves his gazes to look at the guy beside him.

The magician looks closely at the ring- especially at the diamonds on it. He knows so much about jewellery and he can tell the price of the ring right away. The magician then focuses his gaze on the design of the ring.

Decent ring- that's what he has in mind.

Well, it's Kudo after all- that guy has been living in a huge mansion and his style is all classy and exquisite. Not to tell the wealth that he possess- the ring in his hand costs thousands. The ring that he has been troubling to choose perfectly matched and suited the woman that he admires. It seems like he carefully chooses the design to make sure it fits the scientist's standard. What a true effort he has been sacrificed for the woman.

"I agree with Heiji, take it easy. Bet, she will accept it" said Kaito as he returns the ring to the man.

"How do you know?" asked Shinichi, he's still in doubt.

"Remember who's you're talking to. Woman is such a precious creature that I appreciate and admire. I can understand woman more than those rusty detective heads of yours" said Kaito with a hint of mocking in his tone. Shinichi looks at him as his eyes narrow- he can't believe Kaito said that to him. Still, he doesn't talk back as he waits for the magician friend of him to finish his words.

On the other hand, Heiji frown as he seems to be affected by Kaito's words.

"I understand the looks on her eyes when she looks at you. Her behaviour around you is clear. She meant it, she is serious with your relationship. There's nothing to worry about" said Kaito with confidence.

"Besides, you bought this ring that costs thousands of dollars indicate that you trust her to take care of this ring. So what are you waiting for?" said Kaito as he moves his gaze to look at the detective.

"Speak of which, you invited her for a dinner tonight, correct? Propose her. Ya can do it" said Heiji.

Shinichi takes a deep breath as he processes what both of his friend just talked about. It's clear that both of them encourage him to propose Shiho. He looks at the ring in his palm for a moment. Should he?

He closes his hand as he decided to do it- he will propose to her tonight. He smiles as he looks at both of his friends.

"Thank you, Kaito, Heiji," he said.

"That's the spirit!" said Heiji.

"Let me groom you for tonight's date. Gonna looks the best to meet the lady and propose her" said Kaito as he winks.

That's how it goes. Speaking of his friend, both of them is actually there, not too far from their table as they observe Shinichi's behaviour throughout the date- not to mention with the disguise that they used. Shinichi takes a glance at both of his friends- they give him a thumbs up, to give him support.

"You're staring for quite a moment. Are you alright, Shinichi?" said Shiho as she looks straight to his deep blue eyes. She notices he's acting strange tonight. She doesn't know what he's up to yet she's curious about it. She knows him well, and the fact that he acted this way shows that there's probably something he has been hiding from her.

Shinichi settles the cutlery on the plate as he looks at her. He is still nervous about it.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine," he said. This her eyes. It clearly shows he's not. Shiho releases a sigh as she places the cutlery on the plate and crosses her arms.

"You're acting weird. What is it? You know you can talk to me. Is there any problem that we need to discuss about" she said, demanding an answer. Even with that kind of tone he still finds her appealing. Beauty is one of the things that Shiho has and possess.

"W-well, you know..." said Shinichi as he pauses. His hands move to his pocket as he grabs the case which contains the ring. He is still nervous about it. He pauses for quite some time which makes both of his friend that has been watching him from afar facepalm with his behaviour.

"I'm waiting, Shinichi," she said. Her green gazes still haven't moved from his eyes.

The detective from the east takes a deep breath. He can do it- he surely can.

"Shiho, I just want to say that I appreciate your existence around me. I do realize that you're always with me whatever occasions happen and I can't be any grateful for that. I know, our first meeting is not something pleasant to think about, I told you that you're a murderer a killer. But as time passes, I grow to know and understand you deeper. I can find the great quality that you has and it makes me falls for you even harder" he said.

Shiho's eyes widen as she's stunned in front of him. She's taken aback by his sudden praising remark of her. The woman's heart flutters when he said it like that. Her body feels warm and she's sure her face tinted with red in colour.

"S-Shinichi, what are you-"

"Shiho, will you marry me?" said Shinichi as he opens the case- showing a beautiful ring to her.

The looks on her eyes turn warm as she looks at him with a sincere smile.

"So that's what makes you so nervous huh? The famous detective of Japan?" she said as she smirks. Shinichi's eyes shift to another place as he slowly nods.

"Y-yeah. It's not easy for me, you know?" he said.

"So the top detective is a coward. How cute" said Shiho, teasing him a little more. She enjoys the look on his face.

"Hey, cut it out. Y-your answer?" said Shinichi as he shifts his eye back to her. Shiho looks at him warmly.

"Of course. I will. It will be such foolish of me to reject you. I've been waiting for this, Shinichi. Thank you" she said as the tears start to build in her eyes- she has been holding it yet it seems she can't do it.

Shinichi smiles ear to ear as he heard her answer. He places the ring on one of her fingers then he kisses her hand.

"Thank you for accepting me," said Shinichi.

"Thank you for seeing the value in me as a person, Shinichi," said Shiho.

Both of them couldn't be happier with it. It's the happiness that they deserve and they're glad for having each other back.
