Maya's POV:

After that little moment with Lucas we all eventually finished.

The cafeteria looked amazing. We all smiled and went back to history.

"Detention dismissed." Mr Matthews said.

I grabbed my bag and left.

I had to walk back to the Matthews house. Of course Riley Lucas and Farkle are hanging out and I'm not invited.

"Hey maya. Were going to Starbucks want to join us?" Farkle asked.

I was shocked that Farkle invited me. He said he didn't want me here. That know one does.

"Farkle!" Riley said.

"Riley stop." Lucas whispered.

"Um actually I think I'll pass." I said since Riley didn't want me to go.

"You sure?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah."

I have them a faint smile and left.

I entered threw the door and the Matthews were sitting at the table. Except Riley.

I walked over to them.

"May I sit?" I asked.

"Of course maya." Mrs Matthews said.

I sat down.

"You ok?" Mrs Matthews asked.

"Fine. Riley went out with Lucas and Farkle." I said.

"Oh we'll you can help set the table."

"Ok."

I grabbed the plates.

I accidentally dropped one on the floor.

"Oh my gosh." I said.

I got to my knees and picked up the glass.

"Maya it's ok. It's just crashing a little." Mrs Matthews said.

"Not a little a lot. Ow!"

I cut my finger with glass.

"Oh gosh maya." Mrs Matthews said.

She came back with some gauze tape and wrapped it around my finger.

I sat back down.

"Can I do anything right?" I ask.

"Maya. You'll find your talent. Cleaning isn't one of them." Mrs Matthews tells me.

"Your saying the words right out of my mouth."

We both laughed.

So this is what it's like to have a mom.
