Kara had always doubted the existence of soulmates. The fact that everyone was out there having terrible love lives, yet claiming to have a soulmate was ridiculous.

It all ended on a particular day. Kara was still shocked as she gazed on the red string on her finger. "Who could it be?" She wondered, as she started to feel giddy.

She began following the thread. It took a while, considering how long it was. She arrived at (random place) in Detroit. Her heart broke upon seeing who it was. Marcus.....

It would've been fine, if he wasn't already married to North. The two were happy and Kara didn't want to ruin that. With tears she ran home. She felt scared, but she knew what she needed to do.

She grabbed scissors and with shaking hands cut the thread. She gasped in pain, blood dripped from her nose and she felt a splitting headache before fainting.
