Here comes my Devil...

Vedika's POV

"I am done Ma..." I said refusing the bite she is offering to me. 

The first thing which ma did after I reached home was to feed.

I cannot resist food. I was not that kind of a person who starves herself...but that was in the past.

"No...look yourself you have lost kilos in just one month... I am going to feed you so that you could come back to your original size," she said...

Yeah, what she said was true but that was because of all the things happened in my life. I lost my appetite. I miss my papa's advice and mumma's scolding out of love... I miss them truly...why me? Why god is too cruel to me?

First, he snatched Prateek, my brother and then my parents.

"Where are you lost? Eat?" Ma bring me back from my thoughts.

"No ma, i am full now," i said denying for more...

"Just last one, for me?" She said like i am 5 yr kid.

Pa laughed sitting beside me.

"Come on Kirti, she is not a kid. You're are treating her like 5 yr old..." pa said...

"Shut up Anant, she is a kid for me..." Ma scolded Pa and I laughed that ma got the upper hand here...

"Fine..." Pa said...

I take a bite of one more morsel from her hands.

"Okay, you take rest first. We will talk in the evening. Let me show you your room" ma said getting up from the sofa.

We reached my room which is on the first floor. They have a cosy beautiful house.

Wow...words automatically came into my mind...

"Did you like it?" Ma asked me...

"Like? I loved it...It's according to my taste... simple and classy..." I said with a toothy smile...

"Great... now you sleep for a while. I am going downstairs" ma said and leave me alone to have some rest...

I thought to take a nap before setting my clothes in the cupboard.

Evening...

"Vedu, what have you thought further? Will you hunt for a job or take some break for a while?" Pa asked me after having some chitchat here and there.

"What would you suggest Pa?" I asked for his opinion.

"As a father, i would love to see my daughter at home leisurely spending her father's money but as a lawyer, i would suggest you look for a job and make yourself independent" he advised making me smile.

God snatched my papa only to give me another one in the form of Pa.

"Then I will take the advice of a lawyer and will look for a job" i said...

"Okay!!! In fact, if you want, I can talk to one of my clients. He will definitely help you..." He suggested...

"No pa, I want to do it on my own, not on your recommendation," I said...

"Okay, my dear...as you say!!!" He said...

Next week went in a blur...me settling down plus looking for a suitable job. I interviewed two companies but they didn't reply back...

It's more difficult to get a job on foreign land...

Pa again reminds me that he can talk to his friend but I denied. You can say me an idiot but I don't like to take favours especially related to my career.

"Don't be disappointed Vedu, you will find a job soon?" Su said to motivate me.

We trio having con call after many days as Ri was on her honeymoon for last week. So we didn't disturb her. See how good friend we are...lol

"Hmm... Leave my problems behind. Tell me how was your honeymoon Ri?" I asked excitedly...

"Yeah!!! tell us about your first time? Was it painful or not? Though i heard first time hurts badly..." Su asked while I made a yuck face. Though they cannot see it...

"Yuck Su, your dirty mind... Do you want to hear her private bedroom talks about her first time?" I asked her...

"So what did you mean when you asked about her honeymoon?" Su asked me...

"I didn't mean that way... I wanted to ask what places they explored, what they did, what she bought etc etc...not this definitely..." I said defensively...

"Tera kuch nhi ho skta vedu..." Su said definitely rolling her eyes...
(You can't do anything)

"And also honeymoon means s*x nothing else okay..." Su continued...

"Hey, it's not like that... it's not important that we have to do only that thing on honeymoon...we can do other things too" I tried to justify...

"I pity your future husband vedu..." Su said making me rolled my eyes...

"Hey you both, I am also on the line. And don't forget I am talking with you guys rather spending my time with my husband. So, fight afterwards. Can we talk now?" Ri said interrupting us.

"Fine...you talk and we will listen to you," su said and I nodded my head...

"So, firstly vedu i am sending you Sara's no. our classmate...as you know she is in the same profession she might help you in suggesting good companies..." Ri said making me remember that Sara is also settled here in Italy.

"But Ri, I don't want any favours from anyone in this regard..." I said...

"Ohho Vedu, she will not give you a job. She will only suggest Company and after that, it depends on your capability..." Ri said making me think that she is right.

"Okay" I said agreeing to her.

"Now coming to Su, my first time...hmm... it was painful at first but definitely the pleasure i had after that was out of the world..." Ri said as if lost somewhere...

I want to hang up as its very private thing to share and i am a very shy person. I don't think i will ever talk about it to them...

We had a nice time chit-chatting for next hour.

Next day I had a word with Sara who suggested me her company where she is presently working. They have a vacancy so I applied with her help...in the next 2 days, I interviewed there and luckily selected by them...

Now it's been 15 days since I joined the office. I met few nice, then few rude people too...

At least i have Sara by my side... I know Sara from my college time but we never interacted much in the past but here in a foreign land, we have become best friends in just a few days...

It happens sometimes when you met the same person in a different situation another time...you connect so well that you think how come you missed it the first time.

I am glad to have her here. She is filling the space of Ri and Su, but I missed my girls too much...

I also asked Sara not to disclose anything about my parents as I don't want the same thing happens to me again.

I have not seen our boss yet. And she told me that I am lucky enough not to cross his path yet.

Apparently in office, everyone fears him. They call him Devil. No, little correction... Handsome Devil... And I am confused. First you're calling him devil then calling him handsome too...how can a devil be handsome?

Whatever? Why I should care? I just want to work here honestly.

At least I am getting good pay along with a separate cabin for me. I am glad with this. I don't have to work in little cubicle.

But today's weather is really unpredictable like some storm is going to come. After sketching the layout of one project... I glanced down from my cabin's window on the road...

Rain is pouring out heavily. I looked for some time, then I noticed one boy and a girl. Judging by their clothes, they are looking poor.

Girl hardly 10-11 years old trying to hide her younger brother from the rain with the small cloth piece she has. My heartfelt hurt by seeing it...

I hurriedly searched my handbag and bring out 2 chocolates. I always have them in my bag. I also took out my stole to give it to them.

But I don't have an umbrella with me. Yes, Sara...she is having one.

So, I run to her cabin without knocking I get in. As I am in a hurry otherwise I may miss those kids...

"Sara, I am taking your umbrella for going downstairs... Will be back in 5 minutes..." I said taking her umbrella lying on the shelf near the door...

"Its okay Ve----" she stopped midway but I didn't give it a thought...

Authors POV

"Its okay Ve----" Sara stopped midway when she realized she is not alone in the cabin...

As soon as the cabin's door closed with a thud, a man's voice echoed in the room.

"Who is She?" Man asked still looking at the closed door...

"Mr. Parker, She...is a new joinee, Ms. Vedika Mehta working as an Assistant Manager in the designing department..." Sara said gulping her saliva.

Her friend did a grave mistake. In a hurry, she didn't look at the side sofa where a very important person was sitting who don't like to have any interruption in the meeting.

"Veddika..." Man rolled out her name on his tongue unknowingly...

"She didn't see you... I am sorry on her behalf" Sara apologized on her friend's behalf.

"I didn't ask for any further explanation. Did I Ms. Sara?" He said turning his eagle eyes towards Sara.

Sara was frightened, not for her but for her friend...

"No boss," she said.

"We will continue later on," he said getting up from the sofa...

Vedika's POV

I felt content after seeing the smile on their innocent faces. I decided to give back an umbrella to Sara later on...

When I reached my cabin, one man was standing there with his back towards my side looking at the design I drew on the sheet.

Who is he? Looking at his back, I don't think I have ever seen him before.

I tried to interfere...

"Umm... excuse me???" I asked but he didn't reply nor show his face to me.

"I am calling you Mr.?" I said little impatiently.

Again no reply. Is he deaf?

"Is this the layout of KSD Corporation?" He said in his manly voice after a while.

So, he is not deaf... but who is he and why he's asking about my project?

"Yes it is" anyway I answered him...

"How much time will it take for you to complete this whole sketch?" He asked but this time turning towards my side.

And I think I froze for a moment... He is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in my life.

Seriously Vedu??? Beautiful Creature??? What has happened to your mind...yeah yeah I mean handsome man...

But what I noticed first were his green eyes which are as sharp as an eagle...

It kind of dominating me with the kind of look he was giving me.

"Do you have some hearing issues? I don't like to repeat myself. So answer me fast" he said making me shiver.

What is with this guy? He is kind of intimidating me with his eyes...

I was still in dilemma whether to answer his previous question or not. I mean he is complete stranger but something in me told me not to mess with him...

"2 more hours, I guess..." I add in end...Oh god!!! Why I am so unsure about my own work...

"I hope that will be completed at the said time. And next time, don't waste your office hours by roaming here and there" he said and left my cabin making me shocked and confused...

When was I roaming here and there? And most importantly who the hell is he to intimidate me???

I leisurely sit on my chair and closed my eyes...

But notification sound from the system for new email disturbed me...

I opened new mail popped up in my inbox saying...

Internal Meeting for KSD Corporation will start sharp at 3:00 p.m

I checked the time... it's 1:05 p.m.

Shit!!! Don't tell me he was Mr. Parker aka Handsome Devil...

Definitely, it was him only. Otherwise, why would the meeting suddenly held up exactly after 2 hours when it was originally due tomorrow...

Oh god!!! Why did I say 2 hours? There is a lot of work pending. Looks like I will have to forget my lunch today...

Goodbye my sweet Rajma Rice which Ma packed me for today's meal...

Jallad kahika!!!

Don't roam here and there!!! As if I was dancing in the whole office...

Another realization hit me...it means he saw me going downstairs... that's why he said like this...

Wow Vedu...good start with your boss!!!

Soon i started working on the design...

"Vedika? Are you not coming for lunch?" Sara asked entering the cabin...

"No yr, I have to complete this as there is a meeting... otherwise that jallad will eat me with his eyes only" I said thinking about that jallad's eyes...

"Who jallad (devil) and do you know what blunder you did an hour back?" She said...

How did she know I messed up with that jallad?

"Yeah i know...that jallad will fire me definitely" i said...

"Wohh...i didn't see that coming...i know you did mistake by interpreting his meeting but he is—" she ranted making me frown...

"Wait wait, what meeting? When did i interrupt his meeting?" I asked her...

"Don't you know? I thought— by our talking—you know everything...let me enlighten you then when you barged in my cabin...there was a meeting going on with Mr.Parker. But i realized you're in hurry didn't saw him. And when you left, he asked me about you and abruptly ended the meeting..." She explained...

Now it is making some sense... that's why he was in my cabin...

"Shit yr...i am in a great mess...looks like I upset him by your talk..." I said whining...

Why it always happens to me? When I try to avoid to come in someone's eyes, fate always put me in front...

I was planning to escape from Mr. Parker's eyes, as judging by what everyone said... I didn't want to be his next target...

"Yes you're... only god can help you..." Sara said making me more nervous...

"Sara you're not helping me at all," I said...

"Yeah... I am sorry... Don't worry...Mr. Parker is not that bad...he will not do anything" she said as if it will help me...

I don't know why but I am feeling nervous thinking about him.

"But what was he doing in your cabin? I mean generally, bosses call employees to their cabin for any discussion?" I asked her...

"Yeah...but he is different. You will be lucky enough if got a chance to enter his cabin. He allows very few people to enter there. Its generally he does meet in the conference room or employees cabin" she informed...

Strange!!!

"I don't want to be lucky then. Who wants to enter in lion's den?" I said while laughing with her...

Soon clock ticked 2:50 p.m and I collect all my files and design to walk to the conference hall... I don't want to give that jallad any chance to taunt me...

When I entered the room only to find eagle eyes piercing at me...

Shit!!! Why did he come before the time???
