jiseo walks, the picturesqueness of the nature surrounding the park in her view. a slight breeze rustles the leaves and she looks at the freshly cut green grass. the path she walks on is nothing more but a bit of dirt littered across it occassionally. the night is cold, followed by vague wind. the old swings creak and sway side to side from the wind. the shadows of the trees sway and blend into the blackness as the breeze becomes more keen.

she looks to the side, at the boy next to her, letting her thoughts take her away from reality, the park is only illuminated by the flickering artificial light from the tall metal street lamps on the cobbled path.

"you're staring." jiseo looks away.

"can't believe you knocked on my door at two in the morning just because you want to take a walk at the park," she sighs.

"perks of walking you back home!" jungkook exclaims. "now i can bug you whenever i want," he then chuckles, soft lips stretching into a smile.

"what's with you being all smiley?"

"i'm a smiley person," he answers but jiseo stops in her tracks, and she thinks. jungkook stops as well when he realizes she's not next to him anymore. he turns around, confusion evident on his face as he stares at the girl that is a few steps behind from where he's standing.

jeon jungkook is yet again in front of her, dressed in all black as well. his raven hair is covered by the black hoodie, the coal-black strands of his bangs fall against his sun-kissed skin that shines from the fluorescent orange glow from the street lamps and the moonlight from the moon sitting with loneliness in the starless night.

"can you smile so happily like that knowing you've done those bad things you said you did?" she asks, and jungkook's smile falters.

"well, it's not— the things i did, it's not that bad, i was exaggerating," he says. it's a lie, the things he has done are unforgivable.

"c'mon, we were getting along," he uses the same statement, the one he used a few nights ago. his smile fades, it dies faster than wisps of smoke dissipated after a candle flame has been blown out.

"i'm sorry, it just— kinda bothers me— no, actually, it bothers me a lot," she responds uncomfortably.

"bothers you?"

"yeah, you're not like everyone else i know."

"oh."

"it's crazy when you think about it, ya know?" the girl exhales a breath. "you just— you just came out of nowhere. and all of a sudden, you're like, everywhere and it's crazy that you've been talking to me, that you've been meeting me, that you fucking knocked on my door at two in the morning because you want to go for a walk? i don't know what your motive is. what do you want from me? i'm enjoying your company, but it really doesn't make sense."

"it makes me uncomfortable whenever i think of who you really are, and i think of that a lot. don't get me wrong, thanks a lot for helping me from those two guys a few nights ago— but think about it, if i never met you, then that situation wouldn't even happen to me. you're suddenly all over my life, and— and— and it's like my life is suddenly a ruckus."

the corner of jungkook's lips curve downwards into a frown, she kinda misses the smile, "i'm just trying to talk to you, as a friend, that's all— i just— maybe i just want to be your friend."

"do you really?" she asks with doubt clouding her thoughts. "what's your motive?"

"to be your friend," he whispers softly and looks away.

jiseo stares at the boy and sighs, "gosh, yoongi's going to kill me."

"yoongi?" he asks.

"my best friend, he's been there for me for, i don't know, ten years? the fact that i'm with you is going to make him have a heart attack or something," she explains. "—and, that's not even the first thing i'm worried about."

"i— i see," he frowns deepens. "what's the first thing?"

"what?"

"what's the.. first thing you're worried about?" he repeats her previous question.

"it's.." she pauses, "it's complicated, okay. maybe i think about how messed up you actually are and how messed up i am for talking to you. and— maybe i think about all the bad things coming our way, and i just— jungkook, there's a lot bad things to think about."

"then don't think about it," he says and takes a few steps closer to her. she doesn't take any steps back, staying put in her spot, staring at the boy.

and she realizes, even though he has only been apart of barely one-eighth of her life, it feels like she's known him for a lifetime, it feels like he filled every fraction of her life in just a short time. there's just something about that smiles of his, the wonderful smile that she enjoys so much. there's also the way he talks, the way he laughs, the way he walks, the way his jet-black hair blends into the blackness of the night, and jiseo's scared, scared of how far they'll go.

"don't think about the bad things— just... think about me," he whispers, barely audible to the female. "and the good things, and— y-yeah."

"about.. you," she restates his words.

"yeah, just me and y-you, jungkook and jiseo, and the good things in life," he fixates his gaze on her, and then, he smiles at her.

that smile of his somehow makes her heart thump, how incredibly ridiculous it is, it really is, jiseo doesn't want to dwell on it too much. instead, she wants to enjoy this moment, wants to enjoy how harmless and endearing the boy can be. she doesn't think about the bad things, she doesn't spare a glance at the consequences coming her way, she doesn't want to think about all of that.
