I am Station Master by profession. I was posted at a station for a quiet long time; to be precise it is my permanent post there. I am posted in one of the mountain ranges in the country. The railway lines move through one of the thickest forest areas and hilly terrains of the country. I would talk about the station where I am posted. There were three railway tracks going through the forest and tunnels. The third line was a loop line built seventeen years ago, but the station was built twelve years ago, this was not a railway station, but instead it served as a technical halt. The first two lines were up and down lines respectively, however, the loop line was up and down line all together. The loop line was built for bank engines or helper engines, also few trains were moving on the third line. Few passenger trains moved on this line up and down, but mostly freight trains moved up and down on this line.

Our station rested among railway cutting, near the loop line. The next two lines were far away from us, they were one kilometre away from our station. Opposite our railway platform there was a mound which led to a forest, and many trekking points. Behind our platform, there was a mound, where stairs were built for us to climb, behind us there were another two lines, which was one kilometre away from us, and those tracks led us to our town, which was a sleepy town. There I made a few friends, their names were Jaiveer, Suruchi, Adarsh, Yogi, Kamlesh and Durga. Jaiveer and Suruchi were husband and wife. Jaiveer looked after signal systems, Suruchi looked after electrical systems, Adarsh and Yogi looked after track maintenance, Kamlesh was a telecommunication engineer, and Durga was a Railway Police Inspector. We used to live in the same town. We used to walk on the sideways of the tracks to reach our town, which was ten minutes' walk from here. We caught bank engines to reach our town occasionally. There were other staff too, who assisted us in the work, there were twenty-five staff including us at the post. Suruchi, Durga, and other women working with us used to bring tiffins for us, we were like a family, as we were permanently posted in this post.
