(Warning: Mentions of Child Neglect, Child Abandonment and Animal abuse and abandonment.)

-Marshall was neglected by his parents throughout his childhood.

-His father was an alchoholic who was always yelled at him for any minor mistake while his mom would pay more attention to her job than him.

-He was abandoned on the streets by his parents when he was 10 years old. Before his parents left his dad said to him "Don't think we're gonna come back and get you back. You're already a nuisance to our lives." Before leaving him for good. (Luckily, He got adopted by a loving adoptive couple later on.)

-Marshall was bullied a lot in his childhood for his interests with animals. Some kids would even call him a circus freak for his love for animals.

-Marshall didn't have much friends in his childhood, even in the orphanage. Thus he was more close to the stray cats he found in his school and the orphanage than any of his classmates or orphan roommates.

-Marshall used to have an ex-boyfriend named Robbie, But both of them broke up on bad terms.

-The reason why was because of two reasons, The first one was because he was verbally-abusive to him and always degraded him and the second one was because he beat up his pet cat Danica and threw her out for accidentally scratching his jacket while he was gone.

-Marshall found out that Danica was thrown out by Robbie from one of his college mates who saw Robbie tying up Danica in a post after beating her up. Once Robbie came home, Marshall confronted him for that and broke up with him after a big argument with him. (Unfortunately, Danica died before he could get help for her.)

-Marshall cried for two hours straight after Danica died and felt guilty for not doing anything to save her earlier.

-He hides his vulnearable side by being a calm, stoic person to cope with his problems and so he won't get hurt again.

-He still visited Danica's grave with flowers while apologizing for not being able to save her earlier.

-Because of his childhood, He began to develop a strong fear of abandonment and is deep-down insecure of his relationship with Davis.

-He sometimes wondered if he truly deserved to be abandoned by his parents or by his boyfriend.
